Bosnia and Herzegovina competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. This was the nation's seventh consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics. The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina ( Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian Latin: Olimpijski komitet Bosne i Hercegovine; Serbian Cyrillic: Олимпијски комитет Босне и Херцеговине) is the non-profit organization representing Bosnia and Herzegovina athletes in the International Olympic Committee. The committee organizes Bosnia's representatives at the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. Members of the committee are 38 sports federations, which elect the Executive Council composed of the president and twelve members. History The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina was founded on June 4, 1992. It grew out of the ''ZOI '84'' organization, organizers of the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. Damir Džumhur ( ; born 20 May 1992) is a professional tennis player from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is currently Bosnia and Herzegovina's No. 1 player. His career-best singles ranking of World No. 23 achieved on 2 July 2018, makes him the highest-ranked player ever competing for Bosnia and Herzegovina. By winning the 2017 St. Petersburg Open singles tournament, Džumhur became the first player competing under the Bosnian flag to claim an ATP World Tour title. Amina Kajtaz (born 31 December 1996) is a Croatian swimmer. Prior to 2022, she represented Bosnia and Herzegovina. Tatjana Đekanović
Tatjana Đekanović (born 25 February 1997) is a Bosnian sports shooter. She competed in the women's 10 metre air rifle event at the 2016 Summer Olympics and the women's 10 metre air rifle event at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She came 35th out of 51 competitors in the 10m competition. She started shooting in the sixth grade of elementary school, and is a member of the Geofon Shooting Club in Teslić. Interviewed before the Rio Olympics she said that she hoped that the government's attitude to sports would change so that sports were better supported. Her participation in the World Cup at Baku ahead of the Olympics was funded by Teslić municipality and a local company, "M:tel", because there was no state funding.
