Borsko Jezero
Bor Lake ( sr, / ) is an artificial lake in eastern Serbia (Bor District), at an altitude of , less than from the city of Bor, about south east from Belgrade. It is on the road from Bor to Žagubica. Bor District
The Bor District ( sr, Борски округ, Borski okrug, ) is one of nine administrative districts of Southern and Eastern Serbia. It has a population of 123,848 inhabitants, according to the 2011 census results. The administrative center of the Bor district is the city of Bor and the judicial one, due to tradition, Negotin. History The Triballi dominated the region before the Roman conquest in the 1st century BC that weakened and subdued the Paleo-Balkan tribes. The Triballi, a Triballi-Dacian tribe, were defeated by the Roman army under Marcus Licinius Crassus, the consul of 30 BC. The region was organized into Moesia Inferior in 87 AD by Emperor Domitian. Bor, Serbia
Bor ( sr-cyr, Бор; ro, Bor) is a city and the administrative center of the Bor District in eastern Serbia. According to the 2011 census, the city administrative area has a population of 48,615 inhabitants. It has one of the largest copper mines in Europe – RTB Bor. It has been a mining center since 1904, when a French company began operations there. With 760 residential buildings it presents the most urban area due to number of citizens in country, and one of top-five cities in Serbia by number of buildings. Serbia Zijin Bor Copper, formerly known as RTB Bor, is a copper mining and smelting complex located in Bor, Serbia. History Formation and expansion The first geological explorations of copper ore in Bor area were conducted in 1897 and covered the area at the time called "Tilva Roš". The explorations were performed by the Serbian industrialist Đorđe Vajfert, who later provided investments of capital from France and set up a company called the "French Society of the Bor Mines, the Concession St. George". Hotel complex " Hyatt hotel Jelen" is being built by a consortium of Serbian public companies, however the works were aborted during the NATO bombing and have never been restored. In 2010, talks were held with an unnamed Russian company about overtaking of the site. Currently, there is a mountaineering home near the track, with 30 beds. Crni vrh has good road infrastructure, because it lies near the magistral road Bor-Žagubica. Lazareva Pećina
The Lazareva Pećina, which translates Lazar's Cave, is the longest explored cave in Serbia. Located in Bor municipality, near Zlot, the cave is also sometimes referred to as Zlotska Cave. According to 2012's ''Recent Landform Evolution: The Carpatho-Balkan-Dinaric Region'', the cave is long. The cave is situated near the entrance of the deep canyon carved into the mountains by the river Zlotska. The cave exhibits a long history of mining, with evidence of copper metalworks in the cave dating back 5,000 years.
