Borshchahivka
Borshchahivka ( uk, Борщагі́вка; russian: Борщаго́вка) is a neighborhood located to the west and south-west of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. It is part of the city's Sviatoshynskyi District. The neighborhood is named after a large village that was founded at the site. The contemporary urban look comes from the 1960s and 1970s. The neighborhood is divided into two sections: Mykilska and Pivdenna (''South'') Borshchahivka. A village named Petropavlivska Borshchahivka also exists nearby, but it does not belong to Kyiv. A fast tram line connects Borshchahivka with Kyiv's central railway station. Petropavlivska Borshchahivka
Petropavlivska Borshchahivka ( uk, Петропавлівська Борщагівка) is a village in Bucha Raion of Kyiv Oblast (province) of Ukraine. It belongs to Borshchahivka rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. History Founded in 1113. According to the Geographical Dictionary of the Kingdom of Poland in 1497 the village was passed by the Grand Duke of Lithuania Alexander Jagiellon to Kyiv monasteries. The name of the village originates from the river ″Borshchahivka″ (today also known as Nyvky) over which the village is located, and the Petropavlivskiy Dominican monastery, which in turn got its name from two apostles: Peter and Paul). In total around the city of Kyiv, there were five villages named as Borshchahivka, three of which today are merged into the city limits of Kyiv. Sviatoshynskyi District
Sviatoshynskyi Raion ( uk, Святошинський район, ''Sviatoshynskyi Raion'') is an urban district in the city of Kyiv located at the western part of city. The district was created in 2001 after renaming the former Leningrad District. It borders four other districts in Kyiv such as Podilskyi District, Obolonskyi District, Solomianskyi District, Shevchenkivskyi District as well as Bucha Raion that administratively is part of Kyiv Oblast. It takes its name from the historical neighbourhood of Sviatoshyn, named for the 12th century Prince Mykola Sviatosha. Saltivka
Saltivka ( uk, Салтiвка) is a large residential area located in the northeastern region of Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine. It covers most of the eponymous Saltivskyi District with parts extending into the Kyivskyi District and Nemyshlyanskyi District. It is sometimes called the Saltivskyi Masyv, as it realizes a soviet urban planning concept which consist of several different neighborhoods with similar architectural design. Despite its reputation as a deprived residential area with outdated and dilapidated housing, more than a third of Kharkiv's total population resides within its boundaries. According to various estimates, some 400–800,000 people used to live there, making it one of the largest residential areas in Ukraine. The name of the neighborhood is derived from the road that leads to Staryi Saltiv and Verkhnii Saltiv in Chuhuiv Raion. Kyiv Light Rail or Kyiv Express Tram ( uk, Київський швидкісний трамвай, translit.: ''Kyivs’kyi shvydkisnyi tramvai'') is a light rail rapid transit service that serves the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. The system is grade-separated from Kyiv's regular tram system. There are two separate light rail lines which are not connected. A third line has been announced. Both extant lines have intermodal stations providing links with the Kyiv Metro, urban electric train, in addition to other modes of the city's public transport. Kyiv Passenger Railway Station
Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi (''Kyiv-Passenger'', uk, Київ-Пасажирський) is a railway station in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. The station is a railway hub consisting of several railroad station buildings, along with its own repair facilities the Kyiv Electric Railcar Repair Shop, a railway depot with railyard, and integrated into a cityscape the railway sports complex. The station is part of the so-called Kyiv Southern Railway loop. Serving more than 170,000 passengers per day (as of 2005), the complex contains several buildings.
