Roland Borsa (; ro, Roland Borşa ; died 1301) was voivode of Transylvania for 3 periods in the late 13th century. He was known for battling the Mongol invasions and, later, for rebelling against King Charles I's attempts to control his territory. Roger Borsa
Roger Borsa (1060/1061 – 22 February 1111) was the Norman Duke of Apulia and Calabria and effective ruler of southern Italy from 1085 until his death. Life Roger was the son of Robert Guiscard and Sikelgaita, a Lombard noblewoman. His ambitious mother arranged for Roger to succeed his father in place of Robert Guiscard's eldest son by another wife, Bohemund of Taranto. His nickname, Borsa, which means "purse", came from "his early-ingrained habit of counting and recounting his money." In 1073, Sikelgaita had Roger proclaimed heir after Guiscard fell ill at Trani. Roger's cousin Abelard was the only baron to dissent from the election of Roger, claiming that he was the rightful heir to the duchy. Roger accompanied his father on a campaign to Greece in 1084. He was still in Greece when his father died on 17 July 1085 in Kefalonia. Emilio Borsa (Monza, 1857 – 1931) was an Italian painter of genre and landscape scenes, as well as a portraitist. His father, Paolo Borsa, was a professor of Design in Milan. He initially trained with his uncle Mosè Bianchi, then studied at the Brera Academy, and finally moved to Rome. His mother was the aunt of Pompeo Mariani. Borša
Borša ( hu, Borsi) is a village and municipality in the Trebišov District in the Košice Region of eastern Slovakia. The village is famed as the birthplace of Francis II Rákóczi. History In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1221. Borša is the hometown of Francis II Rákóczi who was born here on 27 March 1676. Rákóczi's castle in the village is being under reconstruction since 2018, serving as a museum. Geography The village lies at an altitude of 102 metres and covers an area of 9.54 km². It has a population of about 1250 people. Ethnicity By the beginning of 20th century, the village had an absolute Hungarian majority. In census of 1910 during the period of Magyarization, the village had 783 inhabitants, of which 778 were Hungarians.
