Chester Borrows
Kerry James "Chester" Borrows (born 20 June 1957) is a National Party politician who served as a Member of the New Zealand Parliament (MP) from 2005 to 2017. Borrows worked as a police officer, including as a sole charge officer, and received a Queen's Commendation for Brave Conduct for attempting to arrest an armed murderer. He first stood for Parliament in 1999, and was successfully elected in 2005. He was a Minister outside Cabinet for three years, and was Deputy Speaker also for three years. He did not run for Parliament in 2017. Borrows served as head of the Safe and Effective Justice Advisory Group, tasked with helping reform New Zealand's criminal justice system. Edward Borrows And Sons
Edward Borrows and Sons was founded in 1865 by Edward Borrows, formerly of James Cross and Company. It was located at Providence Works, Sutton, near St Helens, England. The company's business included iron and brass founding and repairs to small locomotive engines. The company first started building railway locomotives in 1872, specializing in a single small well tank design, which it sold primarily to Brunner Mond, Pilkington Brothers, and United Alkali Company. By 1878 there were around 50 employees, a quarter of whom were young apprentices and boys. J.A. Borrows died in 1912 and the property was placed for sale. At this time the works covered "18,000 square yards or thereabouts". The locomotive manufacturing business was taken over by H. W. Johnson and Company. By 1913, around 40 locomotives had been built. Simon Borrows (born 24 January 1959) is a British investment banker. He is the former head of mergers & acquisitions at Barings Bank and the former chairman of the investment bank Greenhill & Co. Since 2012, he has served as the chief executive of the private equity and venture capital firm 3i. Early life Simon Borrows was born on 24 January 1959 in Taplow, Buckinghamshire, England. His father was Kenneth Ambrose Borrows and his mother, Ailsa Nancy Borrows. Borrows was educated at the Rossall School. Brian Borrows
Brian Borrows (born 20 December 1960) is an English football coach and former professional footballer who is a regional coach for the Professional Footballers' Association. As a player he was a defender from 1980 until 1999, most notably playing in the Premier League for Coventry City, where he made 409 appearances, scoring 11 and winning the FA Cup. Prior to this he had played for both Everton and Bolton Wanderers. He finished playing career in the Football League with Bristol City and Swindon Town. Following his retirement he had spells as assistant manager of both Coventry City and Derby County. Career Brian Borrows was born in Liverpool.
