Boroughs Of Gothenburg
Gothenburg Municipality (''Göteborgs kommun''), Sweden is subdivided into 10 ''stadsdelsnämndsområden'' (roughly "city district committee areas"). The term is often translated to ''borough''. But they are really not boroughs, as they are not legal entities or juristic persons of their own, but organs of the central municipal administration. The members of the committees are appointed by the ''kommunfullmäktige'' (municipal assembly) and not by the electorates of the respective "boroughs". They therefore represent the political majority of the municipality ''as a whole''. Gothenburg previously had 20 boroughs, but after a decision in the municipal assembly in January 2010 some of the boroughs were merged, leaving a total of 10 boroughs. The merge were implemented on 1 January 2011. Each "borough" is divided into a number of officially defined residential districts (''Swedish: primärområden''). There are 94 districts. These are usually created by natural neighbourhoods, but so ...

Gothenburg Municipality
Gothenburg Municipality (''Göteborgs kommun'' or ''Göteborgs stad'') is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Gothenburg. When the first Swedish local government acts were implemented in 1863 the City of Gothenburg, founded and chartered in 1621, became a city municipality with an elected city council (''stadsfullmäktige''). Its territory has since then been added through amalgamations in 1868, 1906, 1922, 1931, 1945, 1948, 1967 and 1974. The local government reform of 1971 made the city a unitary municipality, like all others in the country. The municipality prefers, however, to style itself ''Göteborgs stad'' (''City of Göteborg''), whenever legally possible. In March 2018 it was reported that the municipality and municipality-owned companies had 236 employees working with public relations (Swedish: kommunikation), more than Stockholm, to a cost of 400 000 SEK daily or 151 million SEK annually. Localities The ...

Askim, Sweden
Askim () is a district (''stadsdelsnämndsområde'') of the Gothenburg Municipality in Sweden, about south-west of the city centre. To the northwest of Askim is Västra Frölunda, to the east is Mölndal, and the sea is to the west. As a district, Askim has a local board composed of the same proportions ruling Gothenburg as a whole. The voting base in Askim is predominantly bourgeoisie, while Gothenburg as a whole has a social democratic, socialist and environmentalist majority. This has caused some local tensions due to the strong liberal movement, and a strong local movement works to once again make Askim a separate municipality (''kommun''). Askim was traditionally inhabited by fishermen. It is now a predominantly upper-middle class area with golf clubs, yacht clubs, and large houses. The less expensive areas are popular with families with children due to a reputation for safety and good schools. The district of Askim is divided into smaller parts, including Askim, Hovås, Bi ...

Lunden
Lunden is a municipality in the district of Dithmarschen, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is situated on the Eider river, about 16 km north of Heide. It is part of the '' Amt Kirchspielslandgemeinde'' ("collective municipality") of Eider. The first written mention of Lunden is by the Archbishop of Bremen and dates back as early as 1140. The place name probably comes from the Danish "Lunn" (island-like survey) or "Lund"(little forest). In 1513, a Franciscan Friary was constructed in Lunden, fulfilling a vow made by the Dithmarscher soldiers at the Battle of Hemmingstedt in 1500 to donate a monastery in honor of Mary of Nazareth if they won the battle. On 27 February 1529 Lunden was granted a town charter by the National Assembly of Dithmarschen. In 1559, after the peasants' republic in Dithmarschen was defeated by Denmark, this right was lost. From 1806 to 1816, the famous Lutheran theologian Claus Harms served as pastor of Lunden. Lunden is twinned with the town of Rom ...
