Borim
Borim or Bori is a census town in Ponda taluka, North Goa district in the state of Goa, India on the banks of Zuari River. It has a land area of 1536.07 acres and has a population of 8,257. The village has a rich history dating back to the 12th century Kadamba era, when the Kamleshwar temple was built at Deulwada by the Kadamba queen, Kamaladevi. The name '' Bori'' is etymologically derived from the word '' Bora'' (Indian berry, zizyphus). It is said that the village had many Indian berry or "Bor" trees at some point. Bori (food)
Bori ( bn, বড়ি) is a form of dried lentil dumplings popular in Bengali cuisine. It is made from a paste of urad dal and winter melon which is sun-dried for 3–5 days. Once fully dried, it can easily last for about a year. Recipe The paste is laid out by hand on a mat in the sunlight. It sticks to the mat while wet but when the bori dries completely it can easily come off. In its simplest form bori takes the conical shape naturally occurring due to the way the paste is laid out. Intricate artistic designs can also made with the paste when squeezed out through a piping bag. This is called ''naksha bori''. It is also called ''gohona bori'' or ''gayna bori'' because the designs often look like those of jewellery (gahana or gayna is Bengali for jewellery). The Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute (BORI) is located in Pune, Maharashtra, India. It was founded on 6 July 1917 and named after Ramakrishna Gopal Bhandarkar (1837–1925), long regarded as the founder of Indology (Orientalism) in India. Bori People
The Bori are an indigenous tribe of the Adi people living in the districts of East Siang, Upper Siang, Siang and West Siang in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. The Bori constitute a group of people inhabiting in the central portion of Siyom Valley and a major portion of the Sike Valley between Mega in the South and Gasheng in the north of Siang District. Of the 13 villages over which the Bori population is spread, Gate, Gauteng, Gaming, Payum, Yio, Molo, Dupu, Cheying, Row, Bogu, Mega, Pame and Reying. Payum as its headquarters. Pier Cesare Bori (Casale Monferrato, 3 February 1937 - Bologna, 4 November 2012) was a professor of religious history, moral philosophy, and multiculturalism at the University of Bologna. Lucrezia Bori (24 December 1887 – 14 May 1960) was a Spanish operatic singer, a lyric soprano and a tireless and effective fundraiser for the Metropolitan Opera. Biography Lucrezia Bori was born on 24 December 1887, in Valencia, Spain. Her real name was Lucrecia Borja y González de Riancho. Her father was an officer in the Spanish army. Her family were descended from the influential family of the Italian Renaissance, the House of Borgia and she herself was named after her ancestor, Lucrezia Borgia. Gábor Bori (born 16 January 1984) is a Hungarian professional footballer who plays for Usc Pilgersdorf. He was seen as a player with a very bright future in Hungary.
