Borgie Hermida
John Carlos Matanguihan Hermida Jr., better known as Borgie Hermida, is a Filipino professional basketball coach and former player. He is the senior team manager for the Bataan Risers of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and assistant coach of NLEX Road Warriors of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was drafted 17th overall in the 2010 PBA draft by the Barako Bull Energy Boosters. During his five seasons in college with the San Beda Red Lions, he won 4 titles from 2006 to 2008 and 2010. The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is a men's professional basketball league in the Philippines. History Manny Pacquiao launched the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League on August 29, 2017, starting off as a semi-professional league. According to Pacquiao, the league is not intended to be a competitor to the Philippine Basketball Association, the country's top professional basketball league. The PBA Developmental League, or PBA D-League, is the Philippine Basketball Association's official minor league basketball organization. History The PBA D-League was conceptualized after the collapse of the proposed merger between the Philippine Basketball League (PBL) and Liga Pilipinas after the staging of the ''Tournament of the Philippines'' which was composed by PBL and Liga Pilipinas teams. The NLEX Road Warriors was a basketball team that played in the PBA Developmental League (PBA D-League) from 2011 to 2014.
