Borealis Basin
The North Polar Basin, more commonly known as the Borealis Basin, is a large Depression (geology), basin in the northern hemisphere of Mars that covers 40% of the planet. Some scientists have postulated that the basin formed during the Impact event, impact of a single, large body roughly 2% of the mass of Mars, having a diameter of about 1,900 km (1,200 miles) early in the history of Mars, around 4.5 billion years ago. However, the basin is not currently recognized as an Impact crater, impact basin by the International Astronomical Union, IAU. The basin is one of the flattest areas in the Solar System, and has an Ellipse, elliptical shape. Borealis is an annually recurring Norwegian contemporary music festival located in Bergen since 2006. The festival is a continuation of the earlier festivals Music Factory and Autunnale. Madeon
Hugo Pierre Leclercq (; born 30 May 1994), better known by his stage name Madeon (), is a French DJ and music producer from Nantes, currently based in Los Angeles. He initially came to widespread public attention at 17 through a YouTube video, "Pop Culture", where he performed a mash-up of 39 different popular songs in real-time using a Novation Launchpad. It received millions of hits in its first few days of release. Madeon has cited The Beatles and Daft Punk as his greatest musical influences. Madeon's first EP, '' The City'', was released in 2012. His debut studio album, ''Adventure'', was released in 2015, supported by a 22-stop North American tour. ''Good Faith'' is the second studio album by French DJ and record producer Madeon. It was released on 15 November 2019 through Columbia Records. The album features contributions and vocals from Callie Day, Spoonface, Audra Mae, James the Human, Brasstracks, and the West Los Angeles Children's Choir. The album was promoted by three singles: " All My Friends", "Dream Dream Dream", and "Be Fine". The album received mixed to positive reviews from critics. Background In late 2016, Leclercq released a joint single with friend and fellow electronic producer Porter Robinson, "Shelter". He took a break from touring in late 2017 and 2018 to work on his second album. ''Borealis'' is a 2015 Canadian comedy-drama film, directed by Sean Garrity. The film stars Jonas Chernick as Jonah Finn, a man from Winnipeg, Manitoba whose daughter Aurora (Joey King) suffers from a degenerative eye disease, who takes her on a road trip to Churchill to see the Northern Lights before she goes blind; however, the duo are simultaneously pursued by Tubby (Kevin Pollak), a loan shark to whom Jonah owes $100,000 in gambling debt. ''Borealis'' is a 2008 documentary film by Frank Wolf that follows two friends on a 3,100 km canoe adventure through the northern Boreal forest of Manitoba and Ontario. The film looks at the industrial threats to the pristine, vast wilderness north of the 51st parallel from the perspective of those who live in the region. The film is notable for its quirky and humorous tone in spite of the subject matter. It won the Grand Prize as well as Prize for Best Canadian Film at the 2009 Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival and was one of the Top Ten Most Popular Canadian Films at the 2008 Vancouver International Film Festival. Borealis (band)
Borealis is a Canadian power/progressive metal band from Orangeville, Ontario. Their first album was recorded in light of a well received opening performance for Sonata Arctica. When the band began in 2005, they originally employed a female opera style vocalist Siobhan O'Brian as their lead vocalist. In 2006 they recorded a demo ''Eyes of a Dream''. Siobhan left the band between 2006 and 2007. Matt Marinelli became vocalist in September 2007, and 2008 marked the year Borealis released their first full-length album, ''World of Silence''. In order to play this album live, they needed another guitarist, thus hiring Ken Fobert. In 2011 they recorded their second album, ''Fall from Grace'', including Ken Fobert as a member of the band. Michael Briguglio replaced Ken between 2011-2013 and is a current guitarist for the band. They were signed by AFM Records in 2015 and released their third album, ''Purgatory''. Borealis Quadrangle
The Borealis quadrangle is a quadrangle on Mercury surrounding the north pole down to 65° latitude. It was mapped in its entirety by the ''MESSENGER'' spacecraft, which orbited the planet from 2008 to 2015, excluding areas of permanent shadow near the north pole. Only approximately 25% of the quadrangle was imaged by the ''Mariner 10'' spacecraft during its flybys in 1974 and 1975. The quadrangle is now called H-1. It contains the Goethe Basin, whose diameter of at least makes it the sixth-largest impact basin observed on Mariner 10 images(Murray and others, 1974; Boyce and Grolier, 1977; Strom, 1977). The west half of the mapped area (between long 100° and 190° W.) is dominated by older craters and by intercrater plains material that lies between and within them.
