Boomerang is a Central, And Eastern European/East-Central European pay television channel feed which focuses on animated programming for children. This feed is broadcast in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, CIS countries, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Poland, the Balkans, Baltics and Caucasus countries. History Boomerang EMEA was launched on 5 June 2005. On 12 October 2011, at 6:00 am (CEST), it was split into two different feeds: this feed focused on Central and Eastern Europe, while Boomerang HQ centered on the Benelux, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Greece, Middle East & Africa, and Portugal. The European feed at the time consisted of four audio tracks, which were in English, Romanian, Hungarian and Polish. Cartoon Network is a Polish pay television channel aimed at children, which launched in 1998 as a localised feed of the U.S. television network of the same name. The channel is owned by TVN Group, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery. History Cartoon Network Poland was launched on 1 June 1998 replacing Cartoon Network Europe. On 30 September 2002, the channel began airing in Hungary and Romania, thus sharing its video feed with those countries while adding two additional audio tracks in Hungarian and Romanian. On 1 March 2007, Cartoon Network Poland started broadcasting 24 hours a day. Cartoon Network is a Dutch television channel which primarily airs animated programming in the Netherlands and Belgium. This version is available in the Dutch and English languages. Some providers offer the Dutch language only. History On 17 September 1993, the pan-European feed of Cartoon Network launched, broadcasting in the Netherlands with English audio and sharing space with TNT Classic Movies. The official Dutch feed would launch four years later on 12 July 1997. It broadcast for 18 hours a day, from 6AM until midnight. Most shows aired in English with Dutch subtitles, though some aired in Dutch as well. On 1 February 2000, a website for the channel was launched. A magazine launched on 13 April, with 11 issues and one special. Central Europe is an area of Europe between Western Europe and Eastern Europe, based on a common historical, social and cultural identity. The Thirty Years' War (1618–1648) between Catholicism and Protestantism significantly shaped the area's history. The concept of "Central Europe" appeared in the 19th century.
