Bonham Road
Bonham Road is a main road in West Mid-Levels, Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong, running mainly East-West. The road connects Pok Fu Lam Road in the west, near the University of Hong Kong, and Caine Road in the east, at the junction with Hospital Road and Seymour Road. It was named after Sir George Bonham, the third Governor of Hong Kong. It was renamed Nishi-Taisho Dori (西大正通) during Japanese occupation of Hong Kong. Pok Fu Lam Road
Pok Fu Lam Road, or Pokfulam Road, is a four-lane road in Hong Kong. Built on Hong Kong Island, the road runs between Sai Ying Pun and Wah Fu, through Pok Fu Lam. Description It runs south from Sai Ying Pun, passing University of Hong Kong, The University of Hong Kong along the Belcher's, with a road junction with Pokfield Road. Sai Ying Pun Community Complex is located at 2 High Street, Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong. Breezy Path
Breezy Path () is a short and steep one-way road in the Mid-Levels, Hong Kong Island. It begins at the intersection point between Lyttleton Road and Park Road and ends at an intersection at Bonham Road. Traffic can only travel downwards from Park Road to Bonham Road. There are no shops along the road; there are only residential buildings (Ying Piu Mansion) and the Hong Kong Institute of Technology. It provides a faster way to go from Lyttleton Road to Bonham Road and Caine Road, and some minibus routes use it as a shortcut, e.g. the number 56 route, which goes from Robinson Road to North Point. Honiton Road
Honiton ( or ) is a market town and civil parish in East Devon, situated close to the River Otter, north east of Exeter in the county of Devon. Honiton has a population estimated at 11,822 (based on mid-year estimates for the two Honiton Wards in 2009). History The town grew along the line of the Fosse Way, the ancient Roman road linking Exeter (Isca Dumnoniorum) to Lincoln (Lindum). Stone Wall Trees In Hong Kong
Masonry wall trees refer to trees grown from openings in masonry stone retaining walls. In alleviating hazards from landslides, many slopes adjacent to main roads and developments on Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong needed to be secured. Between the 19th century and World War II, the Hong Kong Government and other contractors constructed masonry stone walls to prevent these hazards. Not until the last two decades have slopes been stabilised through cementing. In early constructed walls, opened joints between stones allowed strong species like banyans to sprout. Traffic and human activities carry on despite the growth of these plants, which further stabilise the retaining walls they are growing on. As time goes by, sprouts mature into fully developed stone wall trees.
