Bong Ravena
Ferdinand "Bong" Ravena II (born May 22, 1970) is a Filipino former professional basketball player and a current assistant coach for the TNT Tropang Giga of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was nicknamed The Raven during his playing days. Early life and college career Ravena did not start playing basketball in his younger days. He was more often seen in the open fields playing football, and when he was indoors, he played volleyball. Once he picked basketball as his primary sport, it came to him quickly. He played college basketball at University of the East under then coach Roel Nadurata and led the UE Red Warriors, Red Warriors to a finals appearance in UAAP Season 52, 1990 but fell to Green Archers, De La Salle Green Archers that were powered by Noli Locsin, Jun Limpot and Johnedel Cardel. 1998 PBA All-Star Weekend
The 1998 PBA All-Star Weekend is the annual all-star weekend of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Instead of the old formats of pitting its stars from the North against the South or the veterans versus the youngsters, the league this time featured the Philippine Centennial Team against a PBA Selection, reinforced by imports. Luis Manuel B. Locsin (born October 19, 1971), better known as Noli Locsin, is a Filipino retired professional basketball player. Dubbed as "The Tank", He is best known for his playing years with the Ginebra San Miguel franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association. Playing career Locsin played for the RP Youth team in 1990 before suiting up for back-to-back UAAP titlist De La Salle Green Archers. The De La Salle Green Archers (also known simply as the Green Archers) are the men's varsity teams representing De La Salle University in the Philippines. The women's varsity teams are generally referred to as the De La Salle Lady Archers. The school's varsity teams participate in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, among others. UE Red Warriors refer to the collegiate men's varsity teams of the University of the East. The women's collegiate varsity teams are called the UE Lady Warriors. The Athletic director of the University of the East is Rodrigo M. Roque. 2021 PBA Philippine Cup
The 2021 Philippine Cup, also known as the 2021 Honda PBA Philippine Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the first conference of the 2021 PBA season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The 43rd PBA Philippine Cup started on July 16, 2021, and ended on October 29, 2021. The tournament did not allow teams to hire foreign players or imports. On August 3, the league announced that it will be suspending their games beginning August 4 after the government declared that Metro Manila will be under Enhanced Community Quarantine from August 6 to 20. The league have appealed to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) if they can continue their tournament in Batangas, which is under a more relaxed quarantine restrictions. The 2008–09 PBA Philippine Cup Finals was the best-of-7 championship series of the 2008–09 PBA Philippine Cup and the conclusion of the conference's playoffs. The Alaska Aces and the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters played for the 96th championship contested by the league. This was the first Philippine Cup Finals where no team from the San Miguel Corporation took part since 2000, and the second time the Aces and the Tropang Texters met in the finals, the first was from the 2007 PBA Fiesta Conference in which the Aces won in seven games.
