Bond University Bullsharks
Bond University AFL, nicknamed as the ''Bull Sharks'', is a Gold Coast based Australian rules football club operating out of Bond University. The club currently competes in the Queensland Football Association Division Two and the Queensland Women's Football League competitions. The club is currently one of two universities that supply teams to AFL Queensland, the other being University of Queensland. History The Bond University Football Club was formed in 2011 and entered the AFLQ Division 3 Central league for their inaugural season. Bond would play home games at the Robina Roos' ground on Scottsdale Drive due to unsuitable facilities existing at the university. Nicknamed the Bull Sharks, the club surprised many by compiling a 14–1 record through the home and away season to claim the minor premiership. Australian rules football in South East Queensland has a varied history and many changes were made especially in the 21st century. Krystal Scott
Krystal Scott (born 17 October 1994) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Gold Coast Suns in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She was also listed for two years with Brisbane, but didn't make an appearance. Early life Scott was born in Adelaide and moved to the Gold Coast at seven years of age where she began pursuing a career in tennis as a teenager. She attended King's Christian College throughout her upbringing and relocated to Virginia in the United States in 2014 when she accepted a tennis scholarship to attend Norfolk State University. 2020 AFL Women's Draft
The 2020 AFL Women's draft consists of the various periods when the 14 clubs in the AFL Women's competition can recruit players prior to the competition's 2021 season. Serene Watson (born 3 November 2001) is an Australian rules footballer playing for St Kilda in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW). She has previously played for the Gold Coast. Early life Watson was born in Sydney, New South Wales and moved to the Gold Coast at eight years of age. She attended Helensvale State High School throughout her upbringing and began playing junior football with the Broadbeach Cats. Taylor Smith (Australian Footballer)
Taylor Smith (born 13 February 2000) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Brisbane Lions in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW). She is a premiership player with the Lions, having played in the club's 2021 AFL Women's Grand Final side. Smith previously played for Gold Coast. Kalinda Howarth (born 2 August 1999) is an Australian rules footballer with the Collingwood Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Lauren Bella (born 12 September 2000) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Gold Coast in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW). She has previously played for Brisbane. Early life Bella was born in Mackay, Queensland. Her father, Anthony, was a professional rugby league player for the South Queensland Crushers, and her uncle, Martin, also played rugby league professionally, representing Queensland in State of Origin as well as Australia in international competitions.
