Zeya (river)
The Zeya (russian: Зе́я; from indigenous Evenki word "djee" (blade); zh, 结雅; mnc, m= , Mölendroff: jingkiri bira) is a northern, left tributary of the Amur in Amur Oblast, Russia. It is long, and has a drainage basin of . The average flow of the river is . History The first Russian documented to enter the area was Vassili Poyarkov. Course It rises in the Toko-Stanovik mountain ridge, a part of the Stanovoy Range. The Zeya flows through the Zeya Reservoir, at the junction of the Tukuringra Range and Dzhagdy Range, and joins the Amur near Blagoveshchensk, at the border with China. Regulation of river discharge by Zeya Dam mitigates extremities of river flow down to 5000 m³/s. The Zeya contributes around 16% of both the average and maximum flow of de Amur because of the flow regulations. Amur Oblast

Amur–Zeya Plain (russian: Амурско-Зейское плато) is plateau in Amur Oblast, Russia. The climate is continental with features of the monsoon, with cold, snowless winters and moderately warm summers. There are places gold deposits. The first exploration of the plateau was made by Russian pioneers in the 17th century. Shimanovsk
Shimanovsk (russian: Шима́новск) is a town in Amur Oblast, Russia, located on the Bolshaya Pyora River (a right-hand tributary of the Zeya), northwest of Blagoveshchensk. Population: History It was founded in conjunction with the construction of the Amur railway in 1910, originally named ''Pyora'' after the river on which it stands. It was renamed ''Gondatti'' in 1914 in honor of the then-governor of Amur Oblast, Nikolay Gondatti. In 1920, it was renamed ''Vladimiro-Shimanovsky'' after Vladimir Shimanovsky, a railway engineer and member of the Red Army who was shot dead in Blagoveshchensk during the Russian Civil War. It was granted town status and its name shortened to Shimanovsk in 1950. During the construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline in the 1970s, Shimanovsk saw new growth as a center for production of construction materials. Vostochny Cosmodrome
The Vostochny Cosmodrome (russian: Космодром Восточный, ''Kosmodrom Vostochny'', "Eastern Spaceport") is a Russian spaceport (still partly under construction) above the 51st parallel north in the Amur Oblast, in the Russian Far East. It is intended to reduce Russia's dependency on the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The first launch took place on 28 April 2016 at 02:01 UTC. Svobodny (russian: Свобо́дный) is a town in Amur Oblast, Russia, located on the right bank of the Zeya River, north of Blagoveshchensk, the administrative center of the oblast.
