Vasily Boldyrev
Vasily Georgievich Boldyrev (russian: Василий Георгиевич Болдырев; – 20 August 1933) was an Imperial Russian army commander. He was born in Samara Governorate and fought in the war against the Empire of Japan. He participated in World War I. After the February Revolution, on 19 April 1917 he was appointed commander of the 43rd Army Corps (Russian Empire), 43rd Army Corps. A Lieutenant general since 29 April 1917, he replaced General Danilov on 9 September 1917 as commander of the 5th Army (Russian Empire), 5th Army. In the beginning of August 1918 Boldyrev arrived in Samara, and was elected as one of the 5 members of the Provisional All-Russian Government. After the arrival of Admiral Kolchak, he gave up his post and went to Japan on 28 November. He returned to Vladivostok in the beginning of 1920, and became Commander of the land and naval forces of the Far East (08.04 - 12.12.1920). Biography Boldyrev was born on 5 January 1949 in Krasnoyarsky, Volgograd Oblast. He graduated the Moscow Higher Military Command School in 1971, and Frunze Academy in 1978. He served in various command positions in the Belorussian Military District, and later served in senior staff for operations department in the Transbaikal Military District. He later served as Commander of the 36th Army in 1994, and First Deputy Commander of the Transbaikal Military District in 1998. Elena Vladimirovna Boldyreva (born 4 February 1961) is a Russian chemist. Boldyreva is a leading researcher at the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis in the Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, and is Professor and Head of the Section of Solid State Chemistry at Novosibirsk State University. Early life and education Boldyreva was born in Tomsk. She attended secondary school #130 and graduated with a gold medal in 1977. She studied at the Novosibirsk State University, and earned her bachelor's degree in 1982 and PhD in physical chemistry in 1988. Boldyreva worked at the Russian Academy of Sciences from 1980.
