Bokaro Airport
Bokaro Airport is a domestic airport owned by Steel Authority of India Limited and operated by Airport Authority of India. The airport is located in Sector 12, approximately from the city centre. The airport was included in the UDAN regional connectivity scheme and its expansion is underway to facilitate scheduled operations. History Bokaro Airport was built in the late 1960s to handle private flights for officers of the steel company. It began operating as a private airport until 2010. In the mid-2010s, Jharkhand's former chief minister Raghubar Das drafted a plan to develop this airport to handle scheduled commercial flights for the common people. For this, he and former minister of state for civil aviation Jayant Sinha jointly laid foundation for the airport expansion. Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is a central public sector undertaking based in New Delhi, India. It is under the ownership of Ministry of Steel, Government of India with an annual turnover of INR 1,03,480 Crore (US$13 billion) for fiscal year 2021–22. Dhalbhumgarh Airport
Dhalbhumgarh Airport (IATA: none, ICAO: none) is a proposed domestic airport, which will serve the city of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India. It will be built on a former World War II era airfield in Dhalbhumgarh in East Singhbhum district, about from Jamshedpur. The Government of Jharkhand and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of the airport on 24 January 2019. Under the MoU, a joint venture company would be set up to construct the airport. The project was initially expected to be completed by December 2020. Due to delays and the COVID-19 pandemic, the airport was expected to open by 2022, but construction had not started yet. Dumka Airport
Dumka Airport also known as Sido Kanhu Airport is a small airport serving the city of Dumka, located in the Indian state of Jharkhand. The airport currently does not have any scheduled commercial services and is used only by gliders and state government aircraft. Birsa Munda Airport is a domestic airport serving Ranchi, the capital city of the Jharkhand, India. Jayant Sinha (born 21 April 1963) is an Indian politician who is the Member of Indian Parliament and formerly the Minister of State for Finance and the Minister of State for Civil Aviation in the Government of India. Raghubar Das (born 3 May 1955) is an Indian politician who served as the sixth Chief Minister of Jharkhand. He was sworn in as the 6th chief minister of Jharkhand on 28 December 2014.
