Boing (African TV Channel)
Boing is an African television channel operated by Warner Bros. Discovery through its International unit, which launched on May 30, 2015. A localization of the eponymous Italian television service, the channel airs programming primarily from sister channels Cartoon Network and Boomerang, as well as those from other producers. At this moment, the channel can be seen on Montage Cable TV in Nigeria and Sentech's Mobile TV in South Africa. On January 1, 2017, the channel became available to AzamTV subscribers. The channel does not have a website. The French version of Boing is also broadcast in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Maghreb. 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Because of its close association with the legacy color encoding systems, it is often referred to as PAL, PAL/SECAM or SECAM when compared to its 60 Hz (typically, see PAL-M) NTSC-colour-encoded counterpart, 480i. The ''576'' identifies a vertical resolution of 576 lines, and the ''i'' identifies it as an Interlaced video, interlaced resolution. Boing is an Italian free-to-air television channel marketed at children and teenagers, owned by Boing S.p.A., a joint venture of Fininvest's MFE - MediaForEurope (through its Mediaset Italia subsidiary) and Warner Bros. Discovery (through its International division). It is available on digital terrestrial television and free-to-air satellite provider Tivùsat. History The channel launched on 20 November 2004 at 8:00 pm, after replacing VJ TV some months prior with a sign that said ''Boing, in arrivo.'' (Boing, coming soon.). In 2006 the channel rebranded to a new transparent screenbug and logo in promos, to follow the brand identity of Mediaset's other channels. The change included a new graphics package, introducing Animadz. Most of the Animadz lasted until August 2020. ''Codename: Kids Next Door'' is an American animated television series created by Mr. Warburton for Cartoon Network and distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television. The series follows the adventures of a diverse group of five 10-year-old children who operate from a high-tech treehouse, fighting against adult and teen villains with advanced 2×4 technology. Using their code names (Numbuhs 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5), they are Sector V, part of a global organization called the Kids Next Door. The series' pilot premiered on Cartoon Network in mid-2001 as part of ''The Big Pick II'', a special broadcast event showcasing 11 pilots for different series. The winner of a viewers' poll by Cartoon Network would decide which pilot would be greenlit to be a full series. After winning the poll, the series premiered on December 6, 2002, and concluded on January 21, 2008, after six seasons and 78 episodes.
