Bohumír Bartoněk
Bohumír Bartoněk (born 10 May 1939) is a former international speedway rider from Czechoslovakia. Speedway career Bartoněk reached the final of the Speedway World Team Cup in the 1960 Speedway World Team Cup, he won a bronze medal despite not riding because he was the official reserve rider. He was twice a Continental Speedway Finalist in 1959 and 1961. Continental Speedway Final
The Continental Final was a Motorcycle speedway Final sanctioned by the FIM as the qualifying round for the Speedway World Championship between 1976 and 2000. From 1952-1975 it acted as the final qualifier for the Championship Round or European Final but from 1976-1990 it was upgraded in stature and acted as a final qualifier for the World Championship Final itself. It was not held from 1991-1994 and then from 1995-2000 it acted as a final qualifier for the Speedway Grand Prix or Grand Prix Challenge. Slaný (; german: Schlan) is a town in Kladno District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 16,000 inhabitants. Speedway World Team Cup
The Speedway World Team Cup was an annual speedway event held each year in different countries. The competition started in 1960 and was replaced with the Speedway World Cup in 2001. Format From 1960 until 1985 each team consisted of four riders and a reserve. A final meeting was held after qualifying rounds, the winner being decided on total points scored in that final meeting. In 1986, the teams that qualified for the 'final' raced three meetings, the winner of each meeting being awarded three points, second place awarded two points, and third place awarded a point. The total points gained over the three meetings determined the champion. In 1987, the three meeting system was used again, but this time the aggregate points scored by the individual riders were added together to determine the champion. 1988 saw the championship revert to the original format.
