Carsten Bohn
Carsten Bohn (born 18 August 1948) is a German drummer and composer. He was the drummer for the German progressive rock band Frumpy from 1969 to 1972 and had a long career in the German music scene. He has recorded with Peter Baumann (ex-Tangerine Dream) and played as Drummer with the Jan Hammer Band Biography Already in his youth he performed at Hamburg's legendary Star-Club (where the Beatles started out), acting as the drummer in a variety of bands that gained a measure of local popularity. August German von Bohn (25 February 1812, in Heilbronn – 23 January 1899, in Stuttgart) was a German painter. Biography German von Bohn first studied in law in Tübingen before he studied painting. He was the student of Henri Lehmann and Ary Scheffer in Paris. He stayed in Rome from 1840 to 1843, then he came back to Paris and was made a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 1853. In 1857, he settled in Stuttgart and became a court painter. He also made wall paintings in churches in France. His works are held in several museums in Germany, France and Italy. Hans Bohn (December 23, 1891 – May 10, 1980) was a German graphic artist and typographer. He developed the fonts Orplid, Mondial, Allegro, and the heavier weight of Kuenstler Script. After training at the Technische Lehranstalt in Offenbach, he began his professional career at the Ullstein Verlag in Berlin in 1914. From 1919 to 1930, he worked at the Klingspor Foundry. Afterwards he was a freelance graphic designer. He produced fonts and graphic arts for Ludwig & Mayer, a major German foundry, in the 1930s. Henry George Bohn (4 January 179622 August 1884) was a British publisher. He is principally remembered for the ''Bohn's Libraries'' which he inaugurated. These were begun in 1846, targeted the mass market, and comprised editions of standard works and translations, dealing with history, science, classics, theology and archaeology. Biography Bohn was born in London. He was the son of a German bookbinder who had settled in England. In 1831 he began his career as a dealer in rare books and remainders. In 1841 he issued his ''"Guinea" Catalogue'' of books, a monumental work containing 23,208 items. Bohn was noted for his book auction sales: one held in 1848 lasted four days, the catalogue comprising twenty folio pages. Printed on this catalogue was the information: "Dinner at 2 o'clock, dessert at 4, tea at 5, and supper at 10." James George Stuart Burges Bohn (20 December 1803, London – 4 January 1880, Peckham) was a British bookseller and bibliographer. Family Bohn was son of John Bohn, a London bookseller, who died on 13 October 1843, in his eighty-sixth year. The translator and publisher Henry George Bohn (1796–1884) was his brother. Jason Duehn Bohn (born April 24, 1973) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. He has won two PGA Tour events. Amateur career Bohn was born in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. In 1992, while a sophomore on the Alabama golf team, Bohn was playing in a charity fund-raiser in Tuscaloosa when he made a hole-in-one worth $1 million. John L. Bohn (1869 – April 20, 1955) was an American politician who served as mayor of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from 1942 to 1948. Early life John Louis Bohn, the son of German Lutheran immigrants, was born 1869 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Career Bohn was in the hotel and restaurant business in Michigan and Wisconsin. He served on the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors from 1898 to 1902. In 1916, Bohn was elected to the Milwaukee Common Council. Ocke-Schwen Bohn (born in Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, 14 May 1953 ) is a professor of English Linguistics at Aarhus University in Denmark. He specializes in phonetics and psycholinguistics, especially second language and cross-language speech perception, foreign accented speech, and infant speech perception, and he has also conducted work on the phonetics of an endangered language (Föhr North Frisian), on interlanguage intelligibility, and on language in autobiographical memory. Parker Morse Bohn III (born July 13, 1963) is a left-handed American professional bowler. He has been a member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) since 1984, and is a member of the PBA and USBC Halls of Fame. Bohn is one of only eight players in PBA history to accumulate at least 30 career PBA Tour titles, currently ranking fifth all-time with 35.
