Bogue Chitto is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Lincoln County, Mississippi, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 437. Bogue Chitto is the only municipal hamlet in the state of Mississippi. History Bogue Chitto takes its name from the nearby Bogue Chitto River, the name of which is a Choctaw word, ''Bok Chito'', meaning "big river".Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, 2016, "New Choctaw Dictionary, First Edition". Interstate 55 (I-55) is a major Interstate Highway in the central United States. As with most primary Interstates that end in a five, it is a major cross-country, north–south route, connecting the Gulf of Mexico to the Great Lakes. McComb is a city in Pike County, Mississippi, United States. The city is approximately south of Jackson. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 12,790.
