Bodyguard (2010 Film)
''Bodyguard'' is a 2010 Indian Malayalam-language romantic comedy action film written and directed by Siddique. It stars Dileep and Nayanthara in the lead roles, while Mithra Kurian and Thiagarajan play supporting roles. This film was Nayanthara's comeback to Malayalam cinema after a gap of four years, and it is the first time that Dileep had worked with Siddique. The music was composed by Ouseppachan with popular choreographer-director Prabhu Deva choreographing the song sequences. The film released on 22 January 2010. It has been remade in four other Indian languages: in Tamil as ''Kaavalan'' and in Hindi, Kannada and Telugu. The Tamil and Hindi versions were directed by Siddique himself. The film received positive reviews from critics and audiences praising the cast's performances (especially Dileep and Nayanthara), siddique's screenplay, climax and emotional weight. Siddique Ismail is an Indian film director, screenwriter, actor and producer who predominantly works in Malayalam cinema. He made his directorial debut with the Malayalam movie ''Ramji Rao Speaking'' in 1989. As a screenwriter, he made his debut in the Malayalam movie ''Pappan Priyappetta Pappan'' in 1986. His last film to hit the screens was '' Big Brother''. Personal life Siddique Ismail was born to Ismail Haji and Zainaba in Kochi on 1 August 1954. He is a alumnus of St. Paul's College, Kalamassery. Gopalakrishnan Padmanabhan Pillai, better known by his stage name Dileep, is an Indian actor, producer, and businessman who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry. He has acted in more than 150 films and has won several awards, including four Kerala State Film Awards and one Filmfare Awards South. The Asianet Film Awards is an award ceremony for films presented annually by Asianet, a Malayalam-language television network from the south-Indian state of Kerala. Asianet says that awards ceremony has been instituted to honour both artistic and technical excellence in the Malayalam language film industry.
