BodyMap
BodyMap (also sometimes written as Bodymap or Body Map) was an influential British fashion label of the 1980s, renowned for its layered and innovatively structured shapes, distinctive prints and groundbreaking fashion shows. During the post-Punk and New Romantic early to mid '80s, when street and club styles dominated the British fashion scene, BodyMap was described by the ''Chicago Tribune'' as: "perhaps the hottest, most visually arresting company in Britain's design renaissance". In 1986, Suzy Menkes noted in ''The Times'' that although some of its designs were too extreme to sell well, it was highly influential: " odymap'sideas on body conscious dressing were freely taken up and absorbed into mainstream fashion". In a 2010 retrospective in ''Dazed Digital'', Al Mulhall said it remains: "a reference point in the world of ready-to-wear". Susanne Bartsch
Susanne Bartsch (born 1962) is a Swiss event producer living in the United States whose monthly parties at the Copacabana in the late 1980s united the ''haute'' and ''demi-monde'', and made her an icon of New York nightlife. "Ms. Bartsch's name," according to ''The New York Times'', is "the night life equivalent of a couture label, thanks to the numerous extravaganzas she staged in cities from Montreal to Miami." Michael Clark (dancer)
Michael Duncan Clark CBE (born 29 May 1962) is a Scottish dancer and choreographer. Early life Clark was born in Aberdeen and began traditional Scottish dancing at the age of four. In 1975 he left home to study at the Royal Ballet School in London, and on his final day at the school he was presented with the Ursula Moreton Choreographic Award. In 1979 Clark joined Ballet Rambert, working primarily with Richard Alston, who created roles for him in ''Bell High'' (1979), ''Landscape'' (1980), ''Rainbow Ripples'' (1981) and, subsequently, two solos: ''Soda Lake'' (1981) and ''Dutiful Ducks'' (1982). Leigh Bowery (26 March 1961 – 31 December 1994) was an Australian performance artist, club promoter, and fashion designer. Lucian Freud
Lucian Michael Freud (; 8 December 1922 – 20 July 2011) was a British painter and draughtsman, specialising in figurative art, and is known as one of the foremost 20th-century English portraitists. He was born in Berlin, the son of Jewish architect Ernst L. Freud and the grandson of Sigmund Freud. Freud got his first name "Lucian" from his mother in memory of the ancient writer Lucian of Samosata. His family moved to England in 1933, when he was 10 years old, to escape the rise of Nazism. Sue Tilley
Sue Tilley (born 1957), also known as Big Sue, is a British artist's model and writer. She modelled for painter Lucian Freud. Born in south London, Tilley worked for performance artist and club promoter Leigh Bowery as a cashier at his "Taboo" night club. Bowery introduced her to Lucian Freud in 1990 and she began posing for him the following year. During this time, she was also a full-time benefits supervisor at the Charing Cross jobcentre, a state-operated employment agency, and she eventually became manager there. Freud painted several large nude portraits of Tilley, the first being ' (1993). ''Benefits Supervisor Sleeping'', painted in 1995, was sold at auction in 2008 for £17 million ($33.6 million US) in New York City.
