Bodo (painter)
Camille-Pierre Pambu Bodo, known as Bodo (1953 – March 5, 2015), was a painter from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Bodo currently preaches, lives, and works in Kinshasa. He was born in 1953 and raised in Mandu. He finished his secondary schooling in Mandu in 1970, and moved to Kinshasa the same year in order to partake in the landmark exhibition Art Partout. In 1980, Bodo converted to Christianity and became the pastor of world evangelism within the Pentecostal Church and was convinced that it would change his life. Bodo Pambu is one of the founders and key proponents of the Zaïre school of popular painting. His works, along with those of other artists, vigorously exemplify their belief in their capacity to create art that could change history. Eugeniusz Bodo (born Bohdan Eugène Junod; 28 December 1899 7 October 1943) was a film director, producer, and one of the most popular Polish actors and comedians of the interwar period. He starred in some of the most popular Polish film productions of the 1930s, including '' His Excellency, The Shop Assistant'' (Polish: ''Jego ekscelencja subiekt''), ''Czy Lucyna to dziewczyna?'', and ''Pieśniarz Warszawy''. A skilled singer, he became an icon of Polish musical comedy and a "symbol of Polish commercial cinema". In the late 1930s he also became a successful entrepreneur – co-owner of a successful film studio, café, and producers' company. Leudinus Bodo was a seventh-century bishop of Toul, successor to Eborinus, or Elbonirus. He was a Benedictine. He occurs in hagiographies. His feast day is Sept. 11. He is traditionally known as the founder of Bodonis Monasterium (the monastery of Bodo), later called Bon-Moutier (Bonmoutier, Bon Moustiers). Bonmoutier is in the modern Val-et-Châtillon, Vosges. He is said to have been born around 625, in Bassigny, to Gundoin and Saratrude of the Etichonids, a family of the Austrasian nobility.
