Boyd Henry Bode
Boyd Henry Bode (October 4, 1873 – March 29, 1953) was an American academic and philosopher, notable for his work on philosophy of education. Bode was born in Ridott, Illinois. He grew up in rural areas of Iowa and South Dakota and attended Pennsylvania College in Iowa and later the University of Michigan, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1897, and Cornell University, where he received his Ph.D. in 1900. Bode became assistant professor of philosophy at the University of Wisconsin–Madison (1900-1909) and was later appointed professor of philosophy at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1909-1921). In 1910 Bode published ''An Outline of Logic''. In 1921 Bode became professor of education at Ohio State University. Johann Elert Bode
Johann Elert Bode (; 19 January 1747 – 23 November 1826) was a German astronomer known for his reformulation and popularisation of the Titius–Bode law. Bode determined the orbit of Uranus and suggested the planet's name. Life and career Bode was born in Hamburg. As a youth, he suffered from a serious eye disease that particularly damaged his right eye; he continued to have trouble with his eyes throughout his life. His early promise in mathematics brought him to the attention of Johann Georg Büsch, who allowed Bode to use his own library for study. He began his career with the publication of a short work on the solar eclipse of 5 August 1766. This was followed by an elementary treatise on astronomy entitled ''Anleitung zur Kenntniss des gestirnten Himmels'' (1768, 10th ed. 1844), the success of which led to his being invited to Berlin by Johann Heinrich Lambert in 1772 for the purpose of computing ephemerides on an improved plan. Wolfram Bode (born March 8, 1942) is a German biochemist. Biography Born in Berlin, Bode was educated in chemistry and biochemistry at the University of Göttingen, the University of Tübingen and the University of Munich as a fellow of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1971 at the University of Munich for studies of the bacterial flagellum. Since 1972 he is working at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Martinsried. Bode is associate professor at the University of Munich. Career During his graduate studies Bode was using x-ray scattering. After his Ph.D. he then joined the lab of Robert Huber to work with x-ray crystallography. Wilhelm Von Bode
Wilhelm von Bode (10 December 1845 – 1 March 1929) was a German art historian and museum curator. Born Arnold Wilhelm Bode in Calvörde, he was ennobled in 1913. He was the creator and first curator of the Kaiser Friedrich Museum, now called the Bode Museum in his honor, in 1904. Career Bode studied law at the Universities of Göttingen and Berlin, but took an interest in art during his university years. While practicing law in Braunschweig he systematically rearranged the ducal art collections, and visited a number of museums and private collections in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Italy. Matthew Bode (born 29 June 1979) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Port Adelaide Football Club and the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Recruited from Glenelg Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL), Bode made his AFL debut in 1998 with Port Adelaide Football Club, playing as a small forward before moving to the Adelaide Football Club in 2001. Bode played just one game that year due to injury before having what was easily his best season in 2002, which saw him kick 22 goals and play all 25 games. He followed this with another solid year in 2003. Bode had an injury-affected season in 2004, while in 2005 AFL season he had shoulder surgery which sidelined him after Round 2. Johnny Bode
Johnny Bode (6 January 1912 in Falköping, Sweden – 25 July 1983 in Malmö, Sweden) was a Swedish singer, composer and '' enfant terrible''. After his debut at seventeen years old, Bode recorded hundreds of songs on the gramophone, many of them his own compositions. One of his best-known songs is "'' En herre i frack" (A Gentleman in Tailcoat''), which Gösta Ekman senior sang in 1936. The song later become popularized by famous Swedish singer Jan Malmsjö, who added it to his repertoire. The last gramophone record with Johnny Bode as a singer was recorded in 1942. Bode rebuilt his career several times across his life after numerous setbacks.
