EMI Latin Singles
EMI Group Limited (originally an initialism for Electric and Musical Industries, also referred to as EMI Records Ltd. or simply EMI) was a British transnational conglomerate founded in March 1931 in London. At the time of its break-up in 2012, it was the fourth largest business group and record label conglomerate in the music industry, and was one of the "Big Four" record companies (now the " Big Three"). Its labels included EMI Records, Parlophone, Virgin Records, and Capitol Records, which are now owned by other companies. EMI was listed on the London Stock Exchange, and was also once a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index, but faced financial problems and US$4 billion in debt, leading to its acquisition by Citigroup in February 2011. Songs In Spanish
A song is a musical composition intended to be performed by the human voice. This is often done at distinct and fixed pitches (melodies) using patterns of sound and silence. Songs contain various forms, such as those including the repetition and variation of sections. Written words created specifically for music, or for which music is specifically created, are called lyrics. If a pre-existing poem is set to composed music in classical music it is an art song. Songs that are sung on repeated pitches without distinct contours and patterns that rise and fall are called chants. Songs composed in a simple style that are learned informally "by ear" are often referred to as folk songs. Songs that are composed for professional singers who sell their recordings or live shows to the mass market are called popular songs. These songs, which have broad appeal, are often composed by professional songwriters, composers, and lyricists. Art songs are composed by trained classical compo ...

List Of Number-one Billboard Top Latin Songs From The 1980s
The Hot Latin Songs chart (formerly Hot Latin 50 and Hot Latin Tracks), published in ''Billboard'' magazine, is a record chart based on Latin music airplay. The data were compiled by the ''Billboard'' chart and research department with information from 70 Spanish-language radio stations in the United States and Puerto Rico. Those radio stations were selected based on their number of listeners, and were asked to report their playlists for the week. This information was then entered to the ''Billboard'' computer system, and points were tabulated for each song. Before this chart's inception, the Latin music information on the magazine was presented only in the form of the biweekly album sales chart Top Latin Albums, which was divided into Latin Pop, Tropical/Salsa, and Region Mexican and continues to be listed separately. During the 1980s, 33 songs topped the chart. According to the ''Billboard'' electronic database, the first was "La Guirnalda" by Spanish singer Rocテュo Dテコrcal on ...

Chantelle (band)
Chantelle was a popular merengue musical group from Puerto Rico, which performed from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. The group's name comes from the popular French feminine given name (translated to "Chantal" in Spanish and English). Formed in 1988, Chantelle was an all-female music group, which is somewhat of a rarity for tropical music bands. One of their few predecessors in that respect was "Las Chicas Del Can", a Merengue group from Dominican Republic, that performed during the middle 1980s. In 1989, Chantelle became known on the Puerto Rican and Latin American airwaves with their biggest hit, "Aunque Tテコ No Quieras" ("Even if you Don't Want to"). That song was about a girl telling her boyfriend that they had to separate, despite their feelings. This song gave Chantelle television and radio coverage, and the three girls in the group (Olga Taテアテウn, Sandra Torres and Daly Fontanez) became famous women, although Olga Taテアテウn Olga Teresa Taテアテウn OrtizIn this Spanish ...

Billboard Top Latin Songs Year-End Chart
The year-end charts for the Hot Latin Songs chart are published in the last issue of ''Billboard'' magazine every year. Initially, the chart was based on information provided by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems, which collected airplay information from Latin radio stations in the United States. On the week ending October 20, 2012, the methodology was changed to track the best-performing Spanish-language songs based on digital downloads, streaming activity, and airplay from all radio stations in the country. The Year-End charts represent aggregated numbers from the weekly charts that were compiled for each artist, song and record company. Mexican singer-songwriters Ana Gabriel and Juan Gabriel have had the best-selling single of the year three times each. The Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences awarded Juan Gabriel the Person of Year Award for his professional accomplishments and commitment to philanthropic efforts. Venezuelan singer Franco De Vita's "Te Amo" ranked at number ...
