Bobby Thompson (born August 2, 1937) is a former American football coach and college athletics administrator. He served at the head football coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1974 and two stints as the head football coach at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, from 1979 to 1980 and again in 1984, compiling a career college football coaching record of 16–23–2. He was the athletic director at Fort Hays State from 1980 to 1981, the University of South Dakota from 1981 to 1982, the University of Nebraska Omaha from 1985 to 1988, and University of Texas at San Antonio (USTA) from 1988 to 1999. Thompson was born on August 2, 1937, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and attended Guthrie High School there. Bobby La Rue Thompson (November 3, 1953 – April 25, 2011) was an outfielder in Major League Baseball, playing mainly at centerfield for the Texas Rangers during the season. Listed at 5' 11", 175 lb., Thompson was a switch-hitter and threw right-handed. He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. Following his graduation from Harding University High School, Thompson became the first African American born in Charlotte to join the Major Leagues. He was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 1972 amateur draft, and played six years in the Rangers Minor league system before joining the big team on April 16, 1978. In his only major league season, Thompson served as a reserve outfielder for Al Oliver, Juan Beníquez and Bobby Bonds, being also used in pinch-hitting and pinch-running duties while appearing in 64 games. Robert Michael Thompson (18 November 1911 – 16 April 1988) was a stand-up comedian, actor and entertainer from Penshaw, Sunderland. Although he was raised in Penshaw, he also lived in Great Lumley and Barley Mow, near Chester-le-Street, later moving to Whitley Bay. Early years He was the seventh child of John and Mary Thompson, both of whom died by the time Bobby was eight years old. He was then raised by his elder sister in the village of Fatfield. After leaving school at fifteen, he started work at North Biddick Colliery, earning seven shillings and sixpence a week. The 2022 World's Strongest Man was the 45th edition of the World's Strongest Man competition, an event that took place in Sacramento, California from May 24 to May 29, 2022. The contest was won by Tom Stoltman with this being his second consecutive title. John Donald Cody is a convicted felon who perpetrated several fraudulent activities across the United States since the 1980s. He disappeared from his law practice in Arizona in 1984 after investigators began looking into his activities, suspecting the theft of client funds. In the 2000s, using the alias Bobby Thompson, he ran a fraudulent charity named the United States Navy Veterans Association from Florida.
