Bobby Pierce (baseball Coach, Born 1959)
Bobby Pierce (born July 18, 1959) is an American baseball coach and former outfielder. He is an assistant baseball coach at Chipola Junior College. He started his coaching career at Chipola Junior College, where he coached from 1982 to 1989. He posted a 259–92 record there with five berths in the state tournament. He was later hired as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Alabama. As an assistant, he went 158–122. In 1996, he was the head baseball coach at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he went 276–108. He also served as the head baseball coach of the Troy Trojans (2003–2016). Since becoming head coach of Troy in 2003, Pierce has won an Atlantic Sun Conference regular season title (2005), two Sun Belt Conference The Sun Belt Conference (SBC) is a collegiate athletic conference that has been affiliated with the NCAA's Division I since 1976. Chipola Junior College
Chipola College is a public college in Marianna, Florida. It is part of the Florida College System. History The school was founded in 1947 as Chipola Junior College; its name was changed in 2003 after the college developed several bachelor's degree programs. Campus The college was named for the Chipola River, which is located less than a mile from the campus. In 2012, the school opened a $16 million, 56,000 square foot center for the arts, including two theaters. The 2006 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was held from June 2 through June 26, . Sixty-four NCAA Division I college baseball teams met after having played their way through a regular season, and for some, a conference tournament, to play in the NCAA tournament. The tournament culminated with 8 teams in the College World Series at historic Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska. After winning the regional and super regional rounds of the 2006 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament, eight teams advanced to Omaha. The 2013 NCAA Division I baseball tournament began on Friday, May 31, 2013 as part of the 2013 NCAA Division I baseball season. The 64 team double elimination tournament concluded with the 2013 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, which began on June 15 and ended with the final round on June 25.
