Bobby Connelly
Robert Joseph Connelly (April 4, 1909 – July 5, 1922) was an American child actor of silent films. He is one of the first male child stars of American motion pictures beginning his career in 1913 at the age of four. Career Connelly's parents were vaudeville performers and young Connelly began in films with the Kalem company. His sister Helen also had a career as a child actress. In 1914 Connelly switched to Vitagraph Studios, which were based primarily in New York and New Jersey, close to where Connelly and his family lived. He appeared in films with major players of the day and in 1914–15 portrayed "Sonny Jim" in a series of shorts about the adventures of a young boy. In 1917, he got his own series of films with his name in the title to emphasize his star billing. His career pertains primarily with the Vitagraph studios but occasionally he would appear in other studios' productions such as ''Humoresque'' produced by Paramount Pictures in 1920. Creighton Hale
Creighton Hale (born Patrick Fitzgerald; May 24, 1882 – August 9, 1965) was an Irish-American theatre, film, and television actor whose career extended more than a half-century, from the early 1900s to the end of the 1950s. Career Born in County Cork, Ireland, Hale was educated in Dublin and London, and later attended Ardingly College in Sussex. He emigrated to America in 1910, with a company headed by Gertrude Elliott. He was initially billed as Pat Creighton Hale in the United States. Remaining in the country, he acted in stock theater in Hartford, Indianapolis, and other cities. While starring in Charles Frohman's Broadway production of ''Indian Summer'', Hale was spotted by a representative of the Pathe Film Company. He eventually became known professionally as Creighton Hale, although the derivation of those names remains unknown. His first movie was ''The Exploits of Elaine'' (1914). ''Beyond the Law'' is a 1918 American silent film directed by Theodore Marston. It was based on a serial story of the same name, authored by Emmett Dalton, the lone surviving brother of the Dalton Gang, who appears in the film as himself and two of his deceased brothers. Background Emmett Dalton wrote a serial story recounting "the exploits he and his brother outlaws perpetrated." Titled ''Beyond the Law'', it was published in ''The Wide World Magazine'', a London monthly, starting in May 1918. The same month, Dalton moved to Gastonia, North Carolina, as did the company he was the general manager of, the Southern Feature Film Corporation.
