Bobby Brantley
Bobby Lynn Brantley (born April 6, 1948) is an American Republican politician from the State of Florida. He served as the 13th lieutenant governor of Florida, from 1987 to 1991. Brantley began his political career in 1978 when he was elected to the Florida House of Representatives from a district based in Seminole and Lake Counties. He was reelected three times and represented parts of Central Florida in the House until in 1986. In 1986, he won the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor, defeating Marilyn Evans-Jones, Betty Easley, and Tom Bush to become the running-mate for Tampa Mayor Bob Martinez, the Republican nominee for governor. In the general election, Martinez and Brantley defeated the Democratic ticket, consisting of State Rep. Steve Pajcic for governor and State Sen. Bob Martinez
Robert Martinez (born December 25, 1934) is an American retired politician who served as the 40th governor of Florida from 1987 to 1991. A member of the Republican Party, Martinez was the first person of Spanish descent to be elected governor of Florida. Martinez was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, attended the University of Tampa, and began his career as an educator in the local public school system and then the University of Tampa. In 1965, he was named the director of the local teachers' union, a position he held during the Florida statewide teachers' strike of 1968. He first entered politics with an unsuccessful run for mayor of Tampa in 1974, then won the office in Tampa's next mayoral election in 1979 and was reelected in 1983. Steve Pajcic (born August 4, 1946) is an American lawyer, politician and philanthropist. He served in the Florida House of Representatives for six terms, from 1974–86. He was the Democratic nominee for governor of Florida in 1986. Upbringing and education Pajcic was born and raised in Jacksonville, is of Croatian descent, and a 6th generation Florida Cracker on his mother's side. He attended Annie R. Morgan Elementary School, Paxon Middle School, and Paxon High School. At Paxon High, he was valedictorian and student body class president.
