Bob Quinn (born 1976) is an American football executive who is a senior executive consultant for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the general manager of the Detroit Lions from 2016 to 2020. Quinn began his career with the New England Patriots as a player personnel assistant in 2000 and spent 16 seasons serving in various executive roles within the Patriot organization. Early life After graduating from Norwood High School in Norwood, Massachusetts in 1994, Quinn attended the University of Connecticut, earning a Bachelor's Degree in political science in 1998, and earning his Master's Degree in sports management in 2000. He was a graduate assistant for Connecticut in 1998 and 1999. Robert Berrima Quinn MM (9 April 1915 – 12 September 2008) was a champion Australian rules footballer with the Port Adelaide Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL), and a decorated soldier of the Second World War. Early life Quinn was born in Birkenhead, South Australia, the third of four sons ( Tom, George and Jack Jnr) of John (Jack) Quinn, Sr, a leading footballer of the 1890s and 1900s who captained Port Adelaide Football Club in 1904 and 1905 and represented South Australia. Jack Quinn was a Port Adelaide wharf labourer and gave Quinn the middle name "Berrima" in memory of the '' SS Berrima'', a troop ship that Quinn Snr worked on prior to Bob Quinn's birth. James Aloysius Robert Quinn (February 14, 1870 – March 12, 1954), often referred to as J. A. Robert Quinn, was an American executive in Major League Baseball who became renowned for his management of four different franchises. Career Born in Columbus, Ohio, Quinn was a catcher in minor league baseball during the 1890s, also managing some of the teams for which he played. From 1902 to 1917, he served as general manager of the Columbus Senators in the American Association; he was also among the founders of that league. In 1908, he founded and was president of the Ohio State League, a Class D minor league which began operation as a six team league with teams located in Central/Southern Ohio. He became general manager of the St. Louis Browns from 1917 to 1922, developing the perennially poor team into one which lost the 1922 American League pennant by a single game. Robert E. Quinn (born 1936) is a retired American professional baseball executive. Quinn spent almost 30 years in senior front office positions in Major League Baseball and worked as the general manager of three clubs: the New York Yankees (June 8, 1988 – October 12, 1989), Cincinnati Reds (October 13, 1989 – end of the season) and San Francisco Giants (December 1, 1992 – September 30, 1996). He was the general manager of the World Series champion Cincinnati Reds. Family Quinn is a third-generation member of a family involved in baseball management since the turn of the 20th century. Robert John Quinn (born 8 November 1976) is a former professional footballer, and current youth team coach. He played as midfielder, predominantly in the centre, but also played at centre back. He represented the Republic of Ireland under-21s and Republic of Ireland B team. Career Crystal Palace Quinn began his career at Crystal Palace, where he came through their youth ranks. Whilst he was learning his trade in the Palace youth team, he was made captain and led out the team every week to win the Southeast Counties League. His hard work at youth level was recognised by Crystal Palace manager Dave Bassett, who promoted Quinn to the first team squad. Robert Quinn (born May 18, 1990) is an American football defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at North Carolina, and was drafted by the St. Louis Rams with the 14th pick in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. High school career Quinn attended Fort Dorchester High School in North Charleston, South Carolina, where he played for the Fort Dorchester Patriots high school football team. As a senior, his season was shortened after undergoing brain surgery for a benign tumor. Quinn made a full recovery and was able to resume his football career. Robert Joseph Quinn (born 9 September 1947 in Murwillumbah, NSW) is an Australian Liberal Party politician in the Queensland parliament. He was leader of the Queensland Liberal Party from 2001 until being ousted on 7 August 2006 by Bruce Flegg. Quinn was a schoolteacher before entering politics. Bob Quinn ( ga, Roibeard Ó Cuinn) (born Dublin, 1935) is an Irish filmmaker, writer and photographer who directed ''Poitín'' (1978), the first feature film entirely in the Irish language. His documentary work includes ''Atlantean'', a series of four documentaries about the origins of the Irish people. Quinn has a history of protesting the commercialisation of television, resigning from RTÉ in 1969 on that basis and resigning from the RTÉ Authority in 1999 to protest toy advertising.
