Bob Perkins (radio Personality)
Robert “Bob” Perkins (born December 6, 1933) is an American radio personality. He is a jazz program host and DJ for WRTI. His radio career began in 1964 in Detroit, Michigan. He went on to work for WDAS and while in Philadelphia, in 1997, he joined WRTI-FM Temple University Radio. He was known for his laid-back and mellow style. Perkins was also one of Pennsylvania's favorite night-time jazz listeners, in the Philadelphia area. One of his well-known sayings is "This is BP with the GM!". Meaning "Bob Perkins with the good music." He is also an accomplished radio news journalist and a First Call Master of Ceremonies for regional jazz music events. He has earned well over forty different honors and awards from major government, artistic, journalistic and community organizations. Gerald Ford
Gerald Rudolph Ford Jr. ( ; born Leslie Lynch King Jr.; July 14, 1913December 26, 2006) was an American politician who served as the 38th president of the United States from 1974 to 1977. He was the only president never to have been elected to the office of president or vice president as well as the only president to date from Michigan. He previously served as the leader of the Republican Party in the House of Representatives, and was appointed to be the 40th vice president in 1973. Yvonne Daniels
Yvonne Daniels (September 16, 1937 – June 21, 1991) was an American radio host in Chicago from the 1960s to 1991. Daniels was a member of the first all-woman radio team in 1967 for WSDM and the first woman radio host for WLS in 1973. Daniels was posthumously inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 1995. Early life and education In 1937, Daniels was born in Jacksonville, Florida, a daughter of singer Billy Daniels. As a teenager, she began working as a singer and a R&B radio host. Harold Baron Jackson (3 November 1915 – 23 May 2012) was an American disc jockey and radio personality who broke a number of color barriers in American radio broadcasting. Biography Early years Jackson was born in Charleston, South Carolina, the fifth child of Eugene and Laura Jackson; his father was a tailor. Jazz Bridge is an arts services organization that was unofficially founded in 2004 by jazz singers Suzanne Cloud and Wendy Simon to address the lack of support for individual jazz and blues musicians and vocalists in crisis in the tri-state, lower Delaware Valley, Greater Philadelphia Metro area. Over the years, these women had witnessed the struggles of their fellow musicians and the desperation felt by the music community when the only available remedy to hardship was the traditional jam session to raise money. Chaka Fattah (born Arthur Davenport; November 21, 1956) is an American politician who served as a Democratic member of the U.S. House for from 1995 to 2016. The district included portions of North Philadelphia, South Philadelphia, and West Philadelphia along with Lower Merion Township in Montgomery County. He previously served in the Pennsylvania Senate and the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Herb Clarke (weatherman)
Herbert Spencer Clarke (July 10, 1927 – January 8, 2012) was an American weatherman and television journalist. Clarke spent thirty-nine years, from 1958 to 1997, as a reporter for WCAU-TV in Philadelphia. Under Clarke, WCAU became the first local television station in the Philadelphia media market to use radar in its weather coverage, beginning in 1982. Clarke was born in 1927 in Eden, North Carolina, and graduated from Draper (now Eden) High School in 1944. He was in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 and served on the USS Hancock (CV-19) in the South Pacific Ocean. In 1946, he attended Pfeiffer University in North Carolina. Richard Wagstaff Clark (November 30, 1929April 18, 2012) was an American radio and television personality, television producer and film actor, as well as a cultural icon who remains best known for hosting '' American Bandstand'' from 1956 to 1989. Larry Kane
Larry Kane (born October 21, 1942) is an American journalist, news anchor and author. Kane spent 36 years as a news anchor in Philadelphia, and is the only person to have anchored at all three Philadelphia owned and operated television stations. Early in his career, he was the only broadcast journalist to travel to every stop on the Beatles' 1964 and 1965 American tours. John Thomas Ralph Augustine James Facenda ( ; August 8, 1913September 26, 1984) was an American broadcaster and sports announcer. He was a fixture on Philadelphia radio and television for decades, and achieved national fame as a narrator for NFL Films and ''Football Follies''.
