Bob McAuley
Robert McAuley (24 August 1904 – 1994) was an footballer who played as a fullback. He played professionally in Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland and the United States in addition to earning two caps with the Scottish national team in 1931. Professional While born in Scotland, spending his infancy living in Wishaw, Lanarkshire, McAuley's family emigrated to Canada, and he grew up in Montreal, Quebec. At some point, he began playing for Lachine, then moved to Montreal Carsteel, showing on Montreal's roster on 3 August 1925 and again on 1 August 1927, both times as Montreal All-Stars lost the Carls-Rite Cup to Toronto All-Stars. He is also reported as having played for the Grenadier Guards. In 1925, McAuley moved to the United States and signed with the Providence Clamdiggers of the American Soccer League. League Of Ireland
The League of Ireland ( ga, Sraith na hÉireann), together with the Football Association of Ireland, is one of the two main governing bodies responsible for organising association football in the Republic of Ireland. The term was originally used to refer to a single division league. However today the League of Ireland features five divisions – the Premier Division, the First Division, U19 Division, U17 Division, U15 Division and starting U13 Division. The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League. Glasgow Cup
The Glasgow Cup is a football tournament open to teams from Glasgow, Scotland. Operated by the Glasgow Football Association, it was competed for annually by senior Glasgow clubs from 1887 until 1989. It is now (since the 2019–20 amended rules) competed for between the senior teams of Clyde, Partick Thistle and Queen's Park and the youth teams of Celtic and Rangers, and has used both knockout and round robin formats to determine the finalists. The cup was dominated by the city's Old Firm rivals, Rangers and Celtic, who won the competition 44 times and 29 times respectively (including one shared win) while it was a senior competition. Only five times did the final not feature either Rangers or Celtic (1889, 1915, 1946, 1947, and 1989). The Scottish Football League (SFL) was a league featuring professional and semi-professional football clubs mostly from Scotland.One club, Berwick Rangers, is based in the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, which is located approximately 4 km south of the Anglo-Scottish border.
