Bob Maddox
Robert "Bob" Earl Maddox (born May 2, 1949) is a former professional American football defensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Frostburg State College, where he played defensive tackle and defensive end. He then was drafted in the 7th round by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 1973 NFL Draft. He went on to play for the Kansas City Chiefs for two years afterwards. He was also illegally drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the 15th round of the 1972 NFL Draft The 1972 NFL draft was held February 1–2, 1972, at the Essex House in New York City, New York. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. Frostburg is a city in Allegany County, Maryland, United States, and is at the head of the Georges Creek Valley. It is part of the Cumberland, MD-WV Metropolitan Statistical Area. The San Francisco 49ers (also written as the San Francisco Forty-Niners) are a professional American football team based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
