Bob Lemmon House
Bob Lemmon House is a historic farmhouse located near Winnsboro, Fairfield County, South Carolina. It was built about 1850, and is a two-story, frame I-house. It has a gable roof, a single pile, central hall plan, and rear shed room additions. Fairfield County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Carolina. As of the 2020 census, its population was 20,948. Its county seat is Winnsboro. Fairfield County is part of the Columbia, SC Metropolitan Statistical Area. I-house
The I-house is a vernacular house type, popular in the United States from the colonial period onward. The I-house was so named in the 1930s by Fred Kniffen, a cultural geographer at Louisiana State University who was a specialist in folk architecture. He identified and analyzed the type in his 1936 study of Louisiana house types.
