Bob "Bones" Hamilton
Robert Alexander "Bones" Hamilton (September 8, 1912 – April 1, 1996) was an American gridiron football player, best known for playing college football for Stanford University. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1972. Biography Hamilton was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, and attended Sewickley High School. He then enrolled at Kiski Prep in the fall of 1930, and arrived at Stanford University in the fall of 1932, along with Kiski classmate Jim "Monk" Moscrip. Hamilton, Moscrip, Bob "Horse" Reynolds, and Bobby Grayson played for Stanford's freshman football team during the 1932 season. After the 1932 Stanford varsity was soundly defeated by the USC Trojans, the freshmen players got together and decided that they would never lose to USC, with Hamilton calling it a vow—the team came to be known as the " Vow Boys." Robert T. Hamilton (January 10, 1916 – December 6, 1990) was an American professional golfer. He was born, raised, and died in Evansville, Indiana. He attended and graduated from Evansville Reitz High School in 1934. ''We, Too, Have a Job to Do'' is a painting by American illustrator Norman Rockwell that depicts a Boy Scout in full uniform standing in front of a waving American flag. It was originally created by Rockwell in 1942 for the 1944 Brown & Bigelow Boy Scout Calendar. The model, Bob Hamilton, won a contest to be in the painting and personally delivered a print to the Vice President of the United States at the time, Henry A. Wallace. Creation The painting was created to encourage Scouts to participate in the war effort during World War II. The name of the painting, ''We, Too, Have a Job to Do'', comes from a slogan that the Boy Scouts of America used in 1942 to rally scouts to support the troops by collecting metal and planting victory gardens.
