Robert David Damewood (June 7, 1940 – June 28, 2009) was an American football coach. He was the fourth head football coach at Azusa Pacific College—now known as Azusa Pacific University—in Azusa, California Azusa (Tongva language, Tongva: ''Asuksa-nga'') is a city in the San Gabriel Valley, at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains in Los Angeles County, California, United States, located 20 miles east of Downtown Los Angeles, downtown Los Angeles. ..., serving for two seasons, from 1970 to 1971, and compiling a record of 7–10. The Azusa Pacific Cougars football program was a college football team that represented Azusa Pacific University. From 2012 to 2020, the team was a member of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference of NCAA Division II NCAA Division II (D-II) is an intermediate-level division of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Azusa Pacific University (APU) is a private, evangelical Christian university in Azusa, California.
