Bob Clarke Trophy
The Bob Clarke Trophy is awarded annually to the player who leads the Western Hockey League in points scoring during the regular season. In both years Bob Clarke played in the WHL, he captured the League scoring title. In 1968-69, Clarke’s Flin Flon Bombers captured the League Championship. His NHL career spanned 15 seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers, in which time he captained the team to a pair of Stanley Cups. He was awarded the Hart Trophy as the League’s MVP three times, the Masterton Trophy and the Selke Trophy once each, and was also named an All-Star four times. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1987. Previously, the Bob Brownridge Trophy. Brownridge was a Calgary businessman and owner of the Calgary Centennials of the WHL. Western Hockey League
The Western Hockey League (WHL) is a major junior ice hockey league based in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. The WHL is one of three leagues that constitutes the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) as the highest level of junior hockey in Canada. Teams play for the Ed Chynoweth Cup, with the winner moving on to play for the Memorial Cup, Canada's national junior championship. WHL teams have won the Memorial Cup 19 times since the league became eligible to compete for the trophy. Tri-City Americans
The Tri-City Americans are a major junior ice hockey team of the Western Hockey League, based in Kennewick, Washington. The team plays its home games at Toyota Center (Kennewick), Toyota Center. Every game is broadcast locally on the Tri-City Americans' flagship radio station KFLD, 870 AM KFLD, and each game can also be heard streaming live aKFLD's UStream Channel as well as occasionally being telecast on Saturday nights on KVEW 42.2. Brendan Shinnimin
Brendan Shinnimin (born January 7, 1991) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre playing for Luleå HF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He has previously played for the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Shinnimin played junior hockey for the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League (WHL). Shinnimin was the WHL's leading scoring for the 2011–12 WHL season with 134 points, earning him the 2012 Bob Clarke Trophy. He not only led the WHL in scoring, but was the leading scorer in the entire Canadian Hockey League. He won the Four Broncos Memorial Trophy in 2012 as the WHL Player of the Year and was a unanimous pick as a Western Conference first team all-star. The 2011–12 WHL season is the 46th season of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The regular season began in September 2011 and ended in March 2012. The following playoffs began on March 22 and ended in early May when the Edmonton Oil Kings won their first championship. Brendan Leipsic
Brendan Leipsic (born May 19, 1994) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward currently playing for Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Leipsic was selected by the Nashville Predators in the third round (89th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. After stints with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Vegas Golden Knights, Vancouver Canucks and Los Angeles Kings, he was signed by the Washington Capitals to a one-year, $700,000 contract on July 1, 2019. During the indefinite suspension of league play due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Leipsic was the subject of controversy after a conversation on Leipsic's private Instagram account was leaked to the public. Mitch Holmberg
Mitch Holmberg (born March 9, 1993) is a Canadian former ice hockey player. He played most recently for the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL in the 2016-2017 season. Playing career Holmberg played midget hockey with the Sherwood Park Kings in the Alberta Midget Hockey League before he was selected by the Spokane Chiefs in the first round (21st overall) of the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft. After completing his junior eligibility with the Chiefs in the Western Hockey League, Holmberg was signed to an AHL contract for the following 2014–15 season with the Oklahoma City Barons on April 1, 2014. He made his professional debut a day later with the Barons and on April 4 finished his season in the playoffs with ECHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors. Oliver Bjorkstrand
Oliver Bjorkstrand (born 10 April 1995) is a Danish professional ice hockey forward for the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League (NHL). Bjorkstrand was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the third round, 89th overall, of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Bjorkstrand is the son of American hockey coach Todd and the brother of Patrick. Born and raised in Herning, Bjorkstrand made his AL-Bank Ligaen debut playing with the Herning Blue Fox during the 2011–12 season. Adam Brooks (born May 6, 1996) is a Canadians, Canadian professional ice hockey Centre (ice hockey), centre currently playing for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL).
