Bob Beattie (born 1 September 1943) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Football Beattie made his debut for in 1962 and played 58 Victorian football league matches until 1967. On 6 July 1963, playing on the half-back flank, he was a member of the young and inexperienced Fitzroy team that comprehensively and unexpectedly defeated Geelong, 9.13 (67) to 3.13 (31) in the 1963 Miracle Match. Bob Beattie (skiing)
Robert Prime Beattie (January 24, 1933 – April 1, 2018) was an American skiing coach, skiing promoter and commentator for ABC Sports and ESPN. He was head coach of the U.S. Ski Team from 1961 to 1969 and co-founded the Alpine Skiing World Cup in 1966. His work as a ski-racing commentator for ABC included four Winter Olympic Games, from 1976 through 1988. Early life Beattie was born in Manchester, New Hampshire, on January 24, 1933, to Robert Archibald Beattie (1904–1975), a sales manager for a roofing company, and Katherine Simpson (née Prime; 1906–1995), a homemaker. He had a younger brother, John M. He graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1950. He attended Middlebury College in Vermont, where he participated in several sports, including football, tennis, cross country, and skiing. Bobby Beattie
Robert Beattie (24 January 1916 – 21 September 2002) was a Scottish footballer, who played for Kilwinning Rangers, Kilmarnock, Preston North End and Wigan Athletic. He made one appearance for Scotland in 1938. Beattie started his senior career with Kilmarnock and scored 43 goals in 120 Scottish Football League appearances for the club. He was sold to Preston North End in October 1937 for £2,500. He joined a club which already had several Scottish players, including Andy Beattie and Bill Shankly. During his first season with the club, Beattie was part of the team that won the 1938 FA Cup Final The 1938 FA Cup Final was contested by Preston North End and Huddersfield Town at Wembley Stadium.
