Bob Bailey (politician)
Robert W. Bailey (born ) is a politician in Ontario, Canada. He is a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario representing the riding of Sarnia—Lambton. He has been an MPP since 2007. Background Bailey was born in Petrolia, Ontario in the township of Enniskillen. He worked as a contract coordinator for Nova Chemicals in Sarnia. Bailey is also a Freemason. Politics Prior to entering provincial politics, Bailey served as a councillor for Enniskillen, Ontario. In 2007 he ran in the 2007 provincial election for the Progressive Conservatives party. He defeated Liberal incumbent Caroline Di Cocco by 3,702 votes. He was re-elected in 2011 and again in 2014. Sarnia
Sarnia is a city in Lambton County, Ontario, Canada. It had a 2021 population of 72,047, and is the largest city on Lake Huron. Sarnia is located on the eastern bank of the junction between the Upper and Lower Great Lakes where Lake Huron flows into the St. Clair River in the Southwestern Ontario region, which forms the Canada–United States border, directly across from Port Huron, Michigan. The site's natural harbour first attracted the French explorer La Salle. Sarnia—Lambton (formerly known as Sarnia) is a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1968. The Ontario Liberal Party (OLP; french: Parti libéral de l'Ontario, PLO) is a political party in the province of Ontario, Canada. The party has been led by interim leader John Fraser since August 2022. The 2007 Ontario general election was held on October 10, 2007, to elect members ( MPPs) of the 39th Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, Canada. The Liberals under Premier Dalton McGuinty won the election with a majority government, winning 71 out of a possible 107 seats with 42.2% of the popular vote. The election saw the third-lowest voter turnout in Ontario provincial elections, setting a then record for the lowest voter turnout with 52.8% of people who were eligible voted.
