Boa Esporte Clube, commonly known as just Boa Esporte or Boa, is a Brazilian football club from Varginha, Minas Gerais state. The club was formerly known as Ituiutaba Esporte Clube. History The club was founded on 30 April 1947, in Ituiutaba city, as Ituiutaba Esporte Clube. They won the Campeonato Mineiro Módulo II in 2004, and the Taça Minas Gerais in 2007. They lost the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C to ABC Futebol Clube in 2010. During the 2011 season, the club played in Varginha, adopting the name Boa Esporte Clube, and will return to Ituiutaba after the new stadium is built. As Boa Esporte Clube, they won the Campeonato Mineiro Second Level in 2011. Boa Esporte played the Série B between 2011 and 2015, almost being promoted to the first division in their debut year (when they were 4 points away from 4th placer Sport Recife), and in 2014 (2 points away from 4th placer Avaí FC). Melão
Estádio Municipal Prefeito Dilson Luiz de Melo, usually known as Melão is a Brazilian multi-use stadium in Varginha, Minas Gerais. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 15,471 people. It was built in 1988. The stadium is owned by the Town Hall of Varginha, and its formal name honors Dilson Luiz de Melo, who was Varginha's mayor during the stadium construction. History The inaugural match was played on October 7, 1988, when Atlético Mineiro beat Flamengo of Varginha 1–0. The first goal of the stadium was scored by Atlético Mineiro's Renato. On October 10, 1991, the first ever Brazilian national team match was played in Varginha city. The match, which was against the Yugoslavia national football team, and set the return of Carlos Alberto Parreira as the manager of the ''Seleção'', ended 3–1 to Brazil. Winiston Cristian Santos (born 30 October 1991), commonly known as Tom, is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Juventus-SP as a goalkeeper. Club career Born in Aracaju, Sergipe, Tom graduated from Portuguesa's youth categories, and was promoted to the first-team squad in 2011, acting initially as a backup to Wéverton, Lúcio and Bruno; he remained as a third-choice for the following year.
