BoCoCa
BoCoCa is a portmanteau word combining the names of three adjacent neighborhoods in the Brooklyn borough of New York City: Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, and Carroll Gardens. BoCoCa is not an actual neighborhood, but an umbrella term for the small region of Brooklyn directly south and southwest of Downtown Brooklyn. The relatively new name is not widely used, but is gaining greater currency, even outside the United States. Among the publications using BoCoCa to classify neighborhoods are the Not for Tourists guide and ''New York'' magazine, both of which list BoCoCa together with neighboring Red Hook. NYC & Company, New York City's "official marketing, tourism and partnership organization", has conferred recognition of the term BoCoCa on its web site. However, it is a word that is almost never used by actual residents of the three neighborhoods in question. Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn
Carroll Gardens is a neighborhood in the northwestern portion of the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Taking up around 40 city blocks, it is bounded by Degraw and Warren Streets (north), Hoyt and Smith Streets (east), Ninth Street or the Gowanus Expressway (south), and Interstate 278, the Gowanus and Brooklyn–Queens Expressways (west).Ellin, Nan. TriBeCa
Tribeca (), originally written as TriBeCa, is a neighborhood in Lower Manhattan in New York City. Its name is a syllabic abbreviation of "Triangle Below Canal Street". The "triangle" (more accurately a quadrilateral) is bounded by Canal Street, West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. By the 2010s, a common marketing tactic was to extend Tribeca's southern boundary to either Vesey or Murray streets to increase the appeal of property listings. The neighborhood began as farmland, then was a residential neighborhood in the early 19th century, before becoming a mercantile area centered on produce, dry goods, and textiles, and then transitioning to artists and then actors, models, entrepreneurs and other celebrities. Red Hook is a neighborhood in northwestern Brooklyn, New York City, New York, within the area once known as South Brooklyn. A nomad is a member of a community without fixed habitation who regularly moves to and from the same areas. Such groups include hunter-gatherers, pastoral nomads (owning livestock), tinkers and trader nomads. In the twentieth century, the population of nomadic pastoral tribes slowly decreased, reaching an estimated 30–40 million nomads in the world . NoHo, short for North of Houston Street (as contrasted with SoHo), is a primarily residential neighborhood in Lower Manhattan in the New York City borough of Manhattan. SoHo
Soho is an area of the City of Westminster, part of the West End of London.
