Bnei al-Salam Rahat ( he, בני אלסלאם רהט) ( ar, ابناء السلام رهط), is an Israeli football club based in Rahat. The club currently plays in Liga Gimel South division. History The club was founded in 2011 by members of the Al-Krenawi family and played in Liga Gimel since, usually finishing in mid-table. Rahat
Rahat ( ar, رهط, he, רַהַט) is a predominantly Bedouin city in the Southern District (Israel), Southern District of Israel. In it had a population of . As such, it is the largest Bedouin city in the world, and the only one in Israel to have city council (Israel), city status. Rahat is one of seven Bedouin townships in the Negev desert with approved plans and developed infrastructure. The other six are Hura, Tel as-Sabi (Tel Sheva), Ar'arat an-Naqab (Ar'ara BaNegev), Lakiya, Kuseife (Kseife) and Shaqib al-Salam (Segev Shalom). Liga Gimel ( he, ליגה ג', lit. ''League C'') is the fifth and bottom division of Israeli Football League, a position it has held since 2009. From Liga Alef and downwards to this, each league is separated by region as well. History Liga Gimel was first established in 1951 as a third division, below Liga Alef and Liga Bet. In 1955, after designating the first tier as Liga Leumit, Liga Gimel was demoted to the fourth tier. Further demotions followed in 1976, after the second tier Liga Artzit to the fifth tier and in 1999, after the establishment of Liga Ha'Al to the sixth tier. At the end of the 2008–09 season, Liga Artzit was scrapped and Liga Gimel was brought up back to the fifth tier. The 2015–16 Liga Gimel season was the 48th season of fifth tier football in Israel, with 108 clubs competing in 8 regional divisions for promotion to Liga Bet. League matches began on 9 October 2015 and ended on 7 May 2016. The Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina''), is a knockout cup competition in Israeli football, run by the Israel Football Association (IFA). The State Cup was first held in 1928 as the People's Cup. Because it involves clubs of all standards playing against each other, there is the possibility for "minnows" from the lower divisions to become "giant-killers" by eliminating top clubs from the tournament, although lower division teams rarely reach the final. The current holders of the State Cup are the Israeli Premier League club Hapoel Haifa, who beat Beitar Jerusalem in the 2018 final on May 9, 2018. The 2012–13 Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina'') was the 74th season of Israel's nationwide football cup competition and the 59th after the Israeli Declaration of Independence.
