Jacques Blumenthal (4 October 1829 – 17 May 1908) was a German pianist and composer. Born "Jakob" in Hamburg, he began his musical studies at an early age, receiving instruction from Friedrich Wilhelm Grund, Carl Maria von Bocklet, and Simon Sechter. In 1846 he entered the Conservatoire de Paris, where he studied the piano under the tutelage of Henri Herz and Fromental Halévy.Frederick Corder, rev. by David J. Nathaniel Branden (born Nathan Blumenthal; April 9, 1930 – December 3, 2014) was a Canadian–American psychotherapist and writer known for his work in the psychology of self-esteem. A former associate and romantic partner of Ayn Rand, Branden also played a prominent role in the 1960s in promoting Rand's philosophy, Objectivism. Rand and Branden split acrimoniously in 1968, after which Branden focused on developing his own psychological theories and modes of therapy. Naftali Blumenthal ( he, נפתלי בלומנטל; 1 March 1922 – 1 May 2022) was an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for the Alignment from 1981 until 1984. Biography Born in Stanisławów in Poland (now Ivano-Frankivsk in Ukraine), Blumenthal made aliyah to Mandatory Palestine in 1934. He was a member of the Bnei Akiva youth movement and joined the Haganah at the age of 16. During the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, he served as a company commander in the Carmeli Brigade and was later demobilised with the rank of captain. First elected to the Knesset in 1992, her political career was ended by a conviction for corruption in 2006. Life Blumenthal was born on July 11, 1831 in Altenstadt, Bavaria, the son of Lawrence Blumenthal and Rebecka Mayer. Blumenthal immigrated to America with his parents in 1839. He attended the academy in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania as well as public and high schools in Philadelphia. He graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in New York City, New York as a doctor of medicine in 1852. He served as assistant physician in Blackwell's Island Hospital from 1851 to 1852 and as deputy coroner of New York City in 1853. Karl Konstantin Albrecht Leonhard Graf von Blumenthal (30 July 1810 – 21 December 1900) was an officer of the Prussian Army and field marshal of the Imperial German Army, chiefly remembered for his decisive intervention at the Battle of Königgrätz in 1866, his victories at Wörth and Weißenburg, and above all his refusal to bombard Paris in 1870 during the siege, of which he was in command. Leonard Mascot Blumenthal (February 27, 1901 – August 1984) was a Jewish American mathematician. He received his Ph.D. in 1927 from Johns Hopkins University, under the supervision of Frank Morley; his dissertation was titled ''Lagrange Resolvents in Euclidean Geometry''. He taught for the majority of his professional career at the University of Missouri and was the author of ''A Modern View of Geometry''.
