Bluestone National Park Resort is a holiday park in Pembrokeshire, southwest Wales. The resort falls partly within the boundaries of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The park is owned by several private backers and Pembrokeshire County Council and employs about 700 people. Description The resort's accommodation consists of 344 timber lodges, as well as cottages and studio apartments set in . This area includes the Blue Lagoon indoor water park (not to be confused with the nearby Blue Lagoon former quarry of Abereiddy), Steep Ravine outdoor activity area, an indoor playground and a medieval themed activity area. Political control The first election to the council was held in 1995, initially operating as a shadow authority before coming into its powers on 1 April 1996. Blue Lagoon Waterpark
Blue Lagoon Water Park is an indoor waterpark near Canaston Bridge, Narberth in Pembrokeshire, Wales in the Bluestone National Park Resort. It opened in 2008. Features The waterpark features a beach-style swimming pool with a wave machine, spa pools, river rapids ride, two water flumes, an "easy-going" lazy river that takes you outside, a pirates’ shipwreck and a separate wet play area for children in the water cove. Blue Lagoon is only available for residents of Bluestone Resort who have "unlimited access". The waterpark is heated with locally-sourced biomass. In 2022, it was rated "excellent" by the Royal Life Saving Society UK. The park was closed for over a year during the COVID-19 pandemic in Wales, re-opening to only residents of Bluestone resort in April 2021, by April 2022 the water park had retained the exclusive policy. Oakwood Theme Park
Oakwood Theme Park (formerly Oakwood Leisure Park, Oakwood Coaster Country & Oakwood Park) is a theme park in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Oakwood opened in the late 1980s as a very small family park with BMXs, a wooden fort, a 3D-style cinema experience show, go-karts and a water chute ride. The park later incorporated four large thrill rides: Megafobia (1996), Vertigo (1997), Drenched (2002, as Hydro) and Speed (2006) which was a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter roller coaster with a 97-degree drop. Blackpool Mill
Blackpool Mill is a 19th century flour mill in the community of Martletwy, in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. It sits to the west of Blackpool Bridge on the southern bank of the Eastern River Cleddau, downstream from Canaston Bridge. Built in 1813 on the site of former ironworks, the mill is a Grade-II* listed building, which is intact and contains working machinery, but has ceased commercial operation. Blackpool Mill is listed by RCAHMW as an historic place name. The mill was originally powered by a centre water wheel, in diameter and wide. A turbine replaced the wheel about 1900, driving four pairs of stones. The mill remained in use until 1958; the drive was converted to electricity. In 1968, renovations enabled the building to be opened to the public. Currently, the mill is closed to the public but features in the Narberth to Blackpool Mill Walk.
