Johnathan Jamall Porter (born January 20, 1997), known professionally as Blueface, is an American rapper. In October 2018, after releasing the music video for his song "Respect My Cryppin'", he became a viral meme due to his offbeat style of rapping. The following month, he was signed to Cash Money West, the West Coast branch of Birdman's Cash Money Records label. In 2019, a remix of his song " Thotiana" (featuring Cardi B and YG), became his most successful single to date, peaking at number 8 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. In 2020, he released his debut studio album, ''Find the Beat''. Early life Blueface was born on January 20, 1997, in Los Angeles, California. "Thotiana" (originally titled "Thothiana" and originally stylized in lowercase) is a song by American rapper Blueface. Its music video premiered on WorldStarHipHop's YouTube channel on July 5, 2018. It was then released as a single from Blueface's debut mixtape, ''Famous Cryp'' (2018), on February 2, 2018. The song was written by Blueface and produced by Scum Beatz. Cardi B and YG feature on the official remixes of the song, each with a music video. ''Billboard'' magazine ranked "Thotiana" as the 26th best song of 2019, calling it "one of the catchiest songs of the year". ''Find the Beat'' is the debut studio album by American rapper Blueface. It was released on March 13, 2020, by Cash Money Records and Republic Records. The album features guest appearances by Gunna, Lil Baby, Polo G, DaBaby, Ambjaay, NLE Choppa, Stunna 4 Vegas, Jeremih, and YBN Nahmir. It was originally scheduled to be released on December 6, 2019, but was delayed due to trademark issues.
