''Blue Eyed Soul'' is the twelfth studio album by British pop group Simply Red. The album was released on 8 November 2019 by BMG. Chart performance The album debuted at number six on the UK Albums Chart, selling 9,772 copies in its first week. It is Simply Red's 14th top 10 album in the United Kingdom. Track listing The vinyl release has a slightly different song order from the CD and digital releases. Apparently, the preferred order is that of the vinyl release, which favours slower songs earlier. Simply Red
Simply Red are a British soul and pop band formed in Manchester in 1985. The lead vocalist of the band is singer and songwriter Mick Hucknall, who, by the time the band initially disbanded in 2010, was the only original member left. Since the release of their debut studio album ''Picture Book'' (1985), they have had ten songs reach top 10 in the UK Singles Chart, including "Holding Back the Years" and "If You Don't Know Me by Now", both of which reached number one on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. They have had five number one albums in the UK, with their 1991 album, ''Stars'', being one of the best-selling albums in UK chart history. At the 1992 and 1993 Brit Awards, they received the award for Best British Group. Peter-John Vettese (born 15 August 1956 in Scotland), also known as Peter Vettese, is a Scottish keyboardist, songwriter, arranger and record producer. Vettese is perhaps best known for being the keyboardist for progressive rock band Jethro Tull for most of the 1980s. Early life Peter Vettese grew up in a musical family in Brechin, Angus, Scotland. He began his music studies with piano lessons at the age of 4. At 9, he began playing in public with his father's band. He left home at 17 to join one of the UK's biggest dance hall Big Bands, but was fired for rehearsing in company time with his own group. He then formed the jazz fusion group Solaris with guitarist Jim Condie, and toured Scotland and the US. Marc JB (or Marc Jackson Burrows) is a British music producer who was part of the production team that had a number one on the UK Dance Chart with " Thunder in My Heart Again" by Meck featuring Leo Sayer. He produces in partnership with DJ Lee Dagger and together they have produced and remixed many tracks by other artists, including Kanye West, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and Yoko Ono. British Grove Studios is a recording studio located at 20 British Grove in Chiswick, West London, and owned by musician Mark Knopfler.
