Blue Blazes (film)
''Blue Blazes'' is a 1926 American silent Western film directed by Joseph Franz and Milburn Morante and starring Pete Morrison, Jim Welch, and Barbara Starr. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Grace Macy searches for money hidden by her grandfather just before he was killed by thieves. She hears a dying criminal's confession which brands McKeller as the murderer. Buck Fitzgerald offers to help her. Dee Halloran knows that McKeller is innocent. Buck attacks Grace to obtain the confession, but she escapes to Death Wash, where her grandfather's deserted cabin is located, pursued by Buck and his men. Dee comes to the rescue of Grace, locates the missing money, and wins her affection. Carl Laemmle (; born Karl Lämmle; January 17, 1867 – September 24, 1939) was a film producer and the co-founder and, until 1934, owner of Universal Pictures. He produced or worked on over 400 films. Regarded as one of the most important of the early film pioneers, Laemmle was born in what is now Germany. He immigrated to the United States in 1884 and worked in Chicago for 20 years before he began buying nickelodeons, eventually expanding into a film distribution service, the Laemmle Film Service, then into production as Independent Moving Pictures Company (IMP), later renamed Universal Film Manufacturing Company, and later still renamed Universal Pictures Company. Jerome (; la, Eusebius Sophronius Hieronymus; grc-gre, Εὐσέβιος Σωφρόνιος Ἱερώνυμος; – 30 September 420), also known as Jerome of Stridon, was a Christian priest, confessor, theologian, and historian; he is commonly known as Saint Jerome. Jerome was born at Stridon, a village near Emona on the border of Dalmatia and Pannonia. ''Photoplay'' was one of the first American film (another name for ''photoplay'') fan magazines. It was founded in 1911 in Chicago, the same year that J. Stuart Blackton founded '' Motion Picture Story,'' a magazine also directed at fans. For most of its run, ''Photoplay'' was published by Macfadden Publications. In 1921 ''Photoplay'' established what is considered the first significant annual movie award. The magazine ceased publication in 1980. History ''Photoplay'' began as a short fiction magazine concerned mostly with the plots and characters of films at the time and was used as a promotional tool for those films. In 1915, Julian Johnson and James R.
