Brian Bluck
Brian John Bluck (29 August 1935 – 29 June 2015) was a Welsh geologist, academic author and professor of sedimentation and tectonics at the University of Glasgow. He was known for his work in sedimentology. Early life and education Bluck was born in Pyle, Wales, on 29 August 1935 to a working-class family. He attended Bridgend County Grammar School and while at Cardiff Technical College, he was initially attracted towards politics. However, due to the location of his upbringing amongst Wales' coal mines and limestone landscapes, he decided to study geology at University College in Swansea. Judith Bluck
Judith Bluck (1936–2011) was a British sculptor known for her large scale public works in a variety of materials but most notably in bronze and brick. Biography Bluck was born in London and originally focused on photography, painting and engraving but eventually came to concentrate on large sculptural commissions, often working with pressed bricks. Bluck was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of British Sculptors in 1978, was a member of the Society of Portrait Sculptors and of the Art Workers Guild. Her 24 metre long brick relief, ''The Legend of the Iron Gates'' for the Sainsbury's supermarket in Wilmslow was awarded the Otto Beit Medal by the Royal Society of British Sculptors in 1989. Air Vice Marshal Robert Stewart Blucke, (22 June 1897 – 2 October 1988) was a Royal Air Force officer who became Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief at RAF Transport Command in 1952. RAF career Blucke was commissioned into the 3rd Battalion the Dorsetshire Regiment in 1915 during the First World War and transferred to No. 63 Squadron on formation of the Royal Air Force in April 1918. He became a Signals Officer at the Experimental Section of the Royal Aircraft Establishment in January 1934 and in February 1935 he flew a Handley Page Heyford over Stowe Nine Churches becoming the first pilot to be detected by radar. Stephen Blucke
Stephen Blucke or Stephen Bluck (born –after 1796) was a Black Loyalist, in the American Revolutionary War, and one the commanding officers, of the British Loyalist provincial unit, the Black Company of Pioneers. He was one of 3,000 people who left New York for Nova Scotia on British ships. He settled in a town designed for African-Americans, Birchtown, Nova Scotia. He was a leader in the town, called a magistrate and commissioned as lieutenant colonel of the Black Militia of the greater Shelburne district by Governor Governor John Parr. He worked with a surveyor to identify the area that would become Birchtown and was involved in coordinating labour for roads and other public works. He lived the life of a middle-class person while his neighbors lived a life of poverty. He had a substantial well-built house, while most people lived in simple housing.
