Ryan Roxie
Ryan Roxie (born Ryan Rosowicz, December 1, 1965) is an American guitarist, singer/songwriter best known as a solo artist and for playing guitar with Alice Cooper, Casablanca, Gilby Clarke, and Slash's Snakepit. Roxie is the primary founder of the System-12 Guitar Method and also hosts the weekly ''In the Trenches with Ryan Roxie'' podcast. Early Years Roxie was born in Sacramento, California and grew up in the East Bay in Pleasanton. Roxie's father, Polish, was a trumpet player and his mother was a drummer in her high school marching band. When he was about the age of five Roxie picked up the guitar but was more interested in drums. It wasn't until he was around eleven or twelve that he started taking guitar seriously. Roxie learned to play guitar from an old record player and invented his own form of scratching, going through many records in the process, picking out guitar parts. Gilby Clarke
Gilbert J. "Gilby" Clarke (born August 17, 1962) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. He had a 3-year tenure as the rhythm guitarist of Guns N' Roses, replacing Izzy Stradlin in 1991 during the Use Your Illusion Tour, and also featured on '' "The Spaghetti Incident?"'' (1993). Following this, Clarke went on to forge a solo career as well playing guitar with Slash's Snakepit, Kat Men, Heart, Nancy Sinatra, Kathy Valentine (of The Go-Go's), MC5 and forming his own group Rock Star Supernova with members of Metallica and Mötley Crüe. Clarke's production work includes albums by L.A. Guns, Bullets and Octane, The Bronx and Vains of Jenna. "He's a Whore" is a song written by Rick Nielsen that was first released on Cheap Trick's 1977 debut album ''Cheap Trick''. It has also appeared on a number of Cheap Trick compilation albums, including ''The Essential Cheap Trick''. It has also been covered by many artists including Big Black, Neon and Vince Neil. Like many of Cheap Trick's songs, it was played in early midwest concerts starting in 1975. "He's a Whore" never became a live staple for Cheap Trick, although they began to play the song in concert occasionally in the 1990s and 2000s. Lyrics The genesis of the song came from Nielsen coming up with the title and liking the idea and building the song around it. He liked the fact that the phrase "he's a whore" is not as obvious as if the title was "She's a Whore," and that a song about a gigolo involves a sense of role reversal.
