Bloomington School District 87, often shortened to District 87, is a school district in Bloomington, Illinois. The district has six elementary schools, a junior high school, and a high school as well as a vocational school and an early education (PreK) school. McLean County is the largest county by land area in the U.S. state of Illinois. According to the 2010 census, it had a population of 169,572. Its county seat is Bloomington. Bloomington is a city and the county seat of McLean County, Illinois, United States. It is adjacent to the town of Normal, and is the more populous of the two principal municipalities of the Bloomington–Normal metropolitan area. Bloomington is southwest of Chicago, and northeast of St. Louis. Bloomington High School (BHS) is a public secondary school in Bloomington, Illinois, and is part of Bloomington School District 87. Curriculum Courses include subjects of standard core high school curricula ( Math, English, Science, Physical Education, Foreign Language, etc.) as well as courses in fine arts, vocational skills and special education.
